What is the difference between a Matron of Honor and a Maid of Honor?

Yep.... or I have also seen matrons that are older (like in their 40's or 50's) so basically much older than a traditional bridesmaid. A friend of mine had an older woman in her bridal party and although she was unmarried she was listed as Matron of Honor in the program.

yeah, my matron of honor is in her 50s, but if I had asked on of my best friends who are married and in their 20's they still would have been a matron of honor because they married.
