4 months from today and I can't stick to a DIET!!

I don't know if it's work-summer school-wedding stress, or just the fact that I like to eat :) but, I can't seem to stick to a diet...any diet...for more than 3 days! Is anyone in the same boat and what are you doing? I'm about ready to try Slim-Fast (yuck). Help and hints appreciated! Thanks, Kathi

4 months from today and I can`t stick to a DIET!!

Hi Kathi, I have more than four months to go but I have been having the same problem. I make great starts, but no finishes. I personally think it's harder to diet in the summer with BBQ's, nice warm evenings with an ice cold beer, etc. I started atkins (I had success with it in the past) earlier in the week and so far ok. There's also weight watchers. It's a very healthy balanced diet that can now be incorporated into regular life (with the Winning Points system) Plus the meetings are really great. They help to keep you focused and accountable since you get on a scale in front of other people every week. My ma lost over 20 pounds since the beginning of February. Good luck!!! Christine

10 months to go...to lose over 100lbs...I know how ya feel

I joined Weight Watchers at work with several co-workers and the support helps me a lot. If you have a lot to lose maybe speak to your doctor about other options (it may not be for you but some prescriptions do work). I'm here to if you need someone to chat with. :)

ME TOO!!!!

My wedding is in four months too and I can't stop eating. I find every excuse not go to the gym. I tried Weight Watchers- I am still offically on it but I am so bad! I was good the first two weeks and I lost 5 pounds but since then- nothing!! Mainly b/c I do not stick to it at all!! If I have to eat another Smart Ones meal- I might die! You would think with the motivation of getting married I would be good but I just can't. If anyone has any ideas that would be great!!!!

Thanks, ladies!!

LOL, Kate!! I do the same thing!! I've tried Weight Watchers, I might just have to do it again, sigh... I think I'm going to try Slim-Fast next week...see how that goes. I guess a lil exercise wouldn't kill me - my FI did buy that Ab-Doer last week...hmmm, maybe I should take the dry cleaning off of it and use it! :)

Thanks, ladies!!

I tried the Kashi program for about 3 weeks and I did pretty good but then I just stopped....no reason... just did :) The shake is soooo much better then slim fast. I have only seen it at Trader Joes though..Its about $10 for a box of 5 shakes but it works out to $2 a day.. so its not that bad! I have 16 weeks to go... little over 3 months and need to lose too... I just saw this infomercial this morning on walking videos. You do 1-3 miles a day in front of your tv...Well you walk but you do other stuff also..I dont like to do cardio (well I do but I am too lazy), so it seems like lots of fun. I ordered it (fi is going to kill me) $60 for 3 tapes, menu, weights and something else forgot. I will let you know how it goes. I hope to get it soon! Time is short here!!Try the kashi though, I really liked it and I will prob try it again. I am just trying to do more fruit and veggies now...Good luck!

Kathi...

In a year I've lost 50 lbs. Yeah it was extremely hard at first, but after seeing some results, it's worth it. Before this I've failed at losing weight a bunch of times. Anyway, the way I did it was mostly exercising. Till this day, I go 5 days a week to the gym. Weights 3 days a week, and cardio 2 days, maybe three. What also helped was I took Metabolife. Yeah, my fiance did not like me taking it, but it did help, and also I ate a lot of chicken and fruit. I still ate, and I still eat crap, just not as often. So definitely exercise. You'll feel better and have more energy. I tried Slim Fast, it's nasty. Some people have found a good flavor, but for me it made me nauseous just smelling it. Oh, I also was doing Tae Bo. It's hard, but fun. :) Good luck!

In the same boat

I know what you are all going through ladies. Me too! I've been trying to lose weight for the wedding since last year. I been working out atleast 4 times a week since January 4th and can only seem to lose like 2-3 pounds. It's very frustrating. My wedding is a little over 3 months away and my first dress fitting is July 2nd. That's my goal. But I've really told myself that no matter what I will look beautiful that day and wont let it get me down. Keep smiling, stand up straight, and no body will be able to take the feeling that you are a princess that day, away from you, except your self. Let's use each other as motivation. We all know we are not the only ones going through it. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

Same Here!!!!!!

It seems like we're all thinking the same!!lol I joined WW in Jan., lost 12 lbs and gained 4 back! It's funny how everyone is saying,'Oh you'll lose weight before the wedding because of all the stress!'. lol, yeah ok, whatever, i'm finding that I'm eating more!! So, I made a pact with myself, for myself...i'm back at the gym. If anything ,I have to do it for me and not only for 'the wedding'. It seems to be helping, and i'm going back to WW. So on we go...... next

I Lost the wait too, but its a never ending story

It's so funny right before reading this thread I was reading a Weight Watchers magazine I picked up this morning. Anyway, I've lost a total of 50lbs, I lost 30 of it on Metabolite & no excercise. After seeing the weight loss I got motivated and joined the gym and lost the other 20lbs. Ladies I must say, I always thought that I would be the most happiest woman alive if I just lost 20lbs, but let me tell you something your never happy. If it's not your stomach, its the arms, etc. What I have now realized is that loosing weight and keeping it off is all a mental game. You have to learn to love yourself and your body. And if you are dieting, and have one bad day, don't stress it and get back on, you cannot dwell on your weak moments. If you guys get anything from my rambling it should be this: Whether you loose 2lbs or 100lbs, start loving and caring about your body and it will show on your big day, its all on how you carry yourself. so standup straight and smile.....he loves you no matter what.

Metabolite ?

A few of you mentioned using Metabolite. Did you experience any negative effects or weight gain after discontinuing its use? I have been thinking about trying it.

Fran M

I used Metabolife 356. There is another thing called Metabolite. I didn't have any negative experiences using it at all. I stopped using it a couple of months ago, and I haven't gained any weight back. Maybe because I'm still exercising. But I haven't lost any either, so I was thinking about going back on it. I recommend it. Some people are totally against it. I took 6 pills a day. Well, it depends on your weight. I took two an hour before breakfast, lunch and dinner. When I started taking it, it costs $48 a bottle. Now it costs $20. I think it helps a lot. It's up to you! Good luck!

17 on ww

Im a strong advocate for Weight Watchers - just make sure you stick with writing in your journal...for me its key - to see what you eat...joining with a freind is also extremely helpful...and excercise is a must...even if it is just taking the stairs or parking in the last spot..little things add up...walking with a friend is a good way to catch up.

1 more thing...

I was so excited about losing weight, I never thought about the consequences after. I now have a much, much smaller chest! :( And now I have all this extra skin to tighten up. And from what I learned, it takes a long time. I have some nice muscles, but what good is it when you have all this skin??? Anyway, what I'm saying is, be happy with yourself as you are. If you can lose some weight, great, if not, oh well. Because, I'm not that happy after losing all the weight. It's just one thing after another. You don't really think about this stuff while you're losing weight. You just notice it when you do! Good luck and best wishes to all of you!!!

I used bothe Metabolite and Xenedrine. I lost nothing with Metabolite. It was as if I were not even taking it at all. I lost 2 inches from my hips on Xenedrine, but it gave me such awful headaches that I had to stop taking it, and I immediately gained back the 2 inches. My advice is diet and exercise work far better than pills. : )
