Cassarino Brides - Summer 2000

I got married last August and used Cassarino as my photographer. I could have sworn that there was an 11'X14' black/white with colorizing included in the 'D' package. This was not ususally included but they were running a special at the time. When I went for my album consultation I mentioned it to Raj and he said that was not included. I let it go at the time, but now I looked back at my notes and saw that I had written it down. Are there any brides who used Cassarino back then who can let me know if I'm just crazy? Thanks.

There was on in my package, although I don't know which package I chose. I sort of designed it myself I think. Either way, I would bring my notes in to Raj and talk with him. They are all very accomodating. Be sure to mention your last encounter and how you decided to let it slide, but that it's bothering you now. No harm in asking.

Cassarino Brides - Summer 2000

I was married last summer myself and had Joe C., the owner, as my photographer. So far there are 2 seperate things that I wrote down and my husband and I both heard them say was 'no problem' and 'included' which now are not included. My experience with them has been very poor, the photos are only ok, and really the aggravation of all the phone calls has not been worth it. My husband and I are well educated & don't 'misunderstantd' things very often when we shell out over $5k. I would be very weary.

I agree with Sarah. I'm getting married on a holiday next yr. Joe C. told me that most of his photographers take the day off and that he would do my pics for $4,000, and that's not including video. I didn't appreciate that fact that HE chose the starting package and the fact that his photographers take the day off and that all I'm left with is his services and made me feel that if I didn't go with him that one of his photographers would do a crappy job b/c they are working on a holiday. I found him to be sneaky and only interested in the money that I would be paying for my pics.

I get the idea that Joe is very money hungry. I never met him or dealt with him. I only dealt with George. After looking more closely at my notes I wrote this down in 3 places about the 11X14 picture. I can`t believe I was so careless as to not notice it at the time. I was putting the whole wedding together in 4 months, but I`m so mad at myself. I`ll let you know what happens.

Cassarino Brides - Summer 2000

We didn`t book with Cassarino because we did not like the way they treated us when we came in. Despite the fact that we had an appointment, and we were the only ones there, they made us wait 20 minutes to see someone. There were only 2 girls there, and they were not professionally dressed - wearing leggings and baggy tops - one had on slippers! While we were there, a woman stopped in off the street, said she was a friend of the owners, and wanted to borrow the easel in the window, saying that the owner had said she could and that she`d done it before. The girls did not know anything about it, so would not let her have it, but after she left, the one girl complained to us about how nervy this woman was and used some rather off-color language in the process. We decided that if the owner would hire someone like these girls to represent his business, then we did not have much confidence in them at all. Just our experience - I know others have been happy with their experience. We were at the office in Whitestone.

I had a very similar experience to Karen with our visit to Cassarino. Maybe it`s their Whitestone office that needs some more professionalism but they girls were very young (although as I get older, isn`t everyone LOL) and trying to be very experienced-sounding with us, but not really answering our questions properly. One of the first things they did while discussing their packages is try to sell us on a pricier type of album, before we even really looked at anyone`s work. While they showed us a demo video, they sat nearby and chattered, gossiping and played with their hair in the mirror. This doesn`t really have anything to do with the skills of the photographers, but it gave a very careless first impression of the place overall. In regards to their services, it seemed that everything cost extra, like B&W & colorization, I found other places where this was included if you wanted it for a few pics. Cassarino wanted $55 extra to develop a pic in black & white. Still, to be fair, I know several brides who have posted here and have been happy with them. It`s all a very personal choice.

I have heard from other girls that the office you are referring to is bad. I have only used the Mineola office and have nothing but great things to say about them. Good luck.

Cassarino Brides - Summer 2000

My husband and I used Cassarino Studios for our wedding back in August 1999. I have nothing but great things to say about them. We met with the folks in the Mineola office. I don't remember whom we spoke with, but I do know that our pictures and video came out great. Our photographer really complimented our personalities and knew exactly what exactly we were looking for in our pictures. However, that was our experience. I do recommend that you choose a photographer that you feel absolutely comfortable and confident that they would do a great job, because after the ceremony and reception is over all your memories will be in the photos and that is something you, your husband and family will cherish forever. Congratulations and best wishes to all the brides! :)
