Father Daughter Song for an Adopted Girl...

My mom gave birth to me out of wedlock and my biological father wanted nothing to do with me. When I was 3 she met my Dad and he immediately stepped in and became that father role! When I was 4 they got married and after many days in court... when I was 6 he adopted me.

So many songs out there talk about when the girl was a baby or learning how to walk but what about the girls who were adopted at on older age.

I want something modern, and beautiful yet something that is appropriate for our story. Why is it so hard to find! lol

Suggestions would be AMAZING!

(Butterfly Kisses is out of the question...def not me lol)

I'm using this song with my father. We are close, but it still fit us better than a lot of the other typical father daughter songs.

Even though its from a boys POV... maybe give 'He didn't have to be' by Brad paisley a listen. Your DJ might be able to edit the two lines where he talks about meeting his wife now... but definitely check it out!

You could check out bless the broken road- it might need to be clipped here and there but your dj shoudl eb able to do that- or wind beneath my wings, and i also second keeper of the stars.

on a side note, i want to thank you for sharing your story. My daughter is in the same situation with my fiance and although we have a battle ahead of us, knowing your experiance was a postive one is going to help!

Aw I'm glad! It was a long and hard ordeal but I'm so grateful for what my parents did for me.

My bio father wanted to reconnect with when I was 17... I see him time to time but he has no place on my wedding day.

That's why I really want the song to be special!
