Good April Fools jokes to play on 5th graders?
Last year on April Fools, I was with Kindergarteners so the best pranks were 'this is yellow. no it's really green, april fools'But now I'm in a whole different league: 5th grade.
Does anyone have any good ways to get the kids? Or anyone know what I can expect from them.
I already have one telling me she's putting worms in everyone's pants

Ooh...that's a good one. Ask them ridiculously hard questions that they most likely wouldn't know, keep insisting that this is a very important test and than afterwards let them in on the joke.

Re: Good April Fools jokes to play on 5th graders?
i played an awesome april fools joke on my 5th graders last year .. it went along the lines of a pop quiz.i pretended i got so annoyed with them that 'i had enough,' told them to take out a piece of paper and number 1-20. i started spewing out random questions (e.g. 1/2 + 1/2, spell neighbor, etc.) at a very fast pace so they were frantically keeping up.
at about question 10 i said '#10, spell 'Mrs.', #11, spell 'Smith' (last name), #12 spell 'got', #13 spell 'you'.
my quicker kids got it immediately and started laughing and my slower ones eventually caught on. they gave me a huge round of applause.
it was really quite fun and made my kids list of 'top ten favorite memories of 5th grade' at the end of the school year!

That brings back a funny memory for me...I remember in science class (7th grade, I think) .. where I was so frantically trying to keep up taking notes of what my teacher was saying, that I wasn't even paying attention to what he was saying .. he noticed that .. and had a blast at my expense! This was not April Fool's Day, either! I was so embarassed!

Re: Good April Fools jokes to play on 5th graders?
When I was in 3rd grade my teacher played a joke on us. Whenever someone acted up or did something wrong, she would add something to our list of homework. By the end of the day, we had about a dozen or so different assignments that were supposed to be due the next day. No one realized it was a joke, so we were all freaking out by the end of the day. Just before we left, she told us it was all a joke.
