Save the date addressing questions
When addressing save the date postcards...what is the proper way to do it for:1. If you will be inviting miss x and guest to the wedding - on the save the date do you put Miss X and guest or just Miss X (if you don't know who she will be bringing).
2. Do you address it to Mr. and Mrs. xyz and family or just Mr. and Mrs xyz? If the children are over 16? If the children are under 10?
3. Do you spell out 'and' or write Mr. & Mrs. xyz?
4. Do you spell out the name of the state i.e. Huntington, NY or Huntington, New York?
I have found plenty of info on invitation addressing but i feel like std addresing should be more informal? What do you think? Thanks!!!

Re: Save the date addressing questions
I addressed my Save the Dates the same way as I would address the Invitations, but my Save The Dates were somewhat formal anyways.

Re: Save the date addressing questions
I only wrote to Miss. X the couples that I know live together I wrote to Mr.X and Miss.Y .The families that I know we are inviting with children we wrote Mr. & Mrs. X and Family
I only wrote & not 'and'
I only wrote NY.
Why was I supposed to write out the state?? uhoh. I hope I didn't mess up!! too late though I sent them a while ago

Re: Save the date addressing questions
I just sent my dave the dates out about a month ago and I had the same questions that you do.1. I would put and guest if you are unsure who they are bringing.
2. I sent it to and family if the children were under 18, but for the families that I was not sure about whether or not I was inviting the kids under 10 to the reception, I just addressed it to Mr. and Mrs..
3. I wrote Mr. and Mrs. not Mr. & Mrs.
4. I did not abbreviate the state names.
I made mine just as formal as the invitation will be.
I hope this helps. Good Luck!

Re: Save the date addressing questions
i put 'and guest' b/c we wanted to make sure they knew they could bring one and also have ample time to find one :)don't have any families
i'm not sure how we did this i think and
abbreviated the states
we weren't too concerned about the formality of these basically because we saw them as an informal pre-invitation, but that's just us.

Re: Save the date addressing questions
I heard that id the person is being invited with a guest to the wedding even if they are not dating anyone now, you should write Mr. ____________ or Ms. ___________ and Guest. This lets them know that they can bring a guest.

Re: Save the date addressing questions
If your save the dates are pretty informal, then I don't think you HAVE to use titles when you address people. I didn't, since ours were brochures. I wanted the invitation to be considered 'special.'If you'd like to invite the person with a guest, you can feel free to do this on the STD. If you are inviting a couple with kids then, yes, write 'and family.'
No need to spell out the state name, but it's probably better to spell out the 'and.'
