pictures taken by guests

so one of our guests (a friend of the in-laws) gave DH and I a CD of pictures yesterday (actually they gave us 4 copies of the same CD ) ... they took a lot of pictures ... but they were soooo weird, IMO!

they took pictures of ALL the details! the yarmulkes, the menus, the CPs, slipper baskets, the food, they took pics of EVERYTHING!!!

don't get me wrong, i'm so happy they took these pics so we can remember the details, but i found it weird that a 'random' guest would do this

just thought i'd share

Re: pictures taken by guests

Are they married? Maybe they know how important all those little details were to you?
FSIL did the same for us, but she's a 2011 bride and a former wedding photographer, so I wasn't all that surprised.

Re: pictures taken by guests

yeah, it's an older couple though (in their mid-50's, i'd guess) so they're married ... but not recently

they're no wedding photographers so the pics are awful, but i'm not looking the gift horse in the mouth

Re: pictures taken by guests

Also my friend's husband just started his photography business and he also took pics and gave us a cd.....his were really pro looking though I was shocked!

And it's funny b/c I have shots from other people with him in the background and he really looks like he was working the wedding.

Re: pictures taken by guests

That was nice of them. One of our guests did the same thing. Actually I like alot of the pics taken my guests some better then our pro pics. Look at it this way, it's better then having a whole roll of film of pictures the person took of themself, and there's 2 of you and your husband on it.

Kinda similar, my boss is an older (like 50s) married woman and in Sept, when I went back to work, she was like 'Oh I have something to give you' she pulls out a cry pack, a program (I think she got 2 b/c she got one and her husband got one.) She says 'I kept a set and figured you could keep one too' I was like 'ooooooh thanks but I have an extra set it's okay you keep it' She was fine with it but it was rather odd to me.

So I totally understand.

Re: pictures taken by guests

Did they get married recently? Maybe they felt that they wished someone did that for them. I just got my video back and I was happy to see some of those details because I missed them with everything going on.
