Tell us more about Mattituck Florist.
Mattituck florist has been on the north fork since 1971. We had purchased the shop in 2005 and at that time it was a garden center as well. Realizing the times have changed, while also unleashing my inner passion for design, I did away with the garden center and focused my energy on floral design. This was the best decision I could have made! We have since been able to create a warm environment and express our creativity, not only in our arrangements, but in our displays in and out of the shop, as well.
I feel that design is an art. It is not about ordering 'sunshine splendor item #425.' It is about taking a piece of nature, arranging it in such a way that the client says 'this exceeded my expectations!' I cannot speak for my competitors, but I can say this: I love change and we constantly transform with the ever changing times, We take special care in selecting and caring for all the florals ordered for the event, and most importantly we really listen to what the client is expressing and fully understanding the their vision.
Most of our brides really come prepared with material that will help paint a true image of what their wedding day will look like. We are certainly there to assist with any creative ideas, but having a color pallet, dresses and venue in place before booking a consultation is best .
