RP: Anyone want a dog??

FH's friend's neighbor just passed away over the weekend. He lived alone and was diabetic and had a heart attack in his house.

So anyway, he had a 9 or 10 yr old black lab who is still healthy and is a very very friendly dog. This guys kids are saying that they are planning on putting the dog to sleep

So if anyone knows anyone who wants a dog or if anyone knows of a place that the dog can be taken to, where he won't be put to sleep, please let me know!!

NORTHSHORE ANIMAL LEAGUE-- they dont put dogs to sleep!!!

post this on the pet board! i'm SURE someone will be there with answers....that poor dog i would take him if i didn't have two in our tiny apartment already! in the meantime give that pup lots of love! i'm sure he's missing his owner & i can't believe these kids would put the dog down for no reason! and i can't believe there are people out there that would actually do it for them!

Bobby and the Strays is a great organization located in Queens that could probably take him- its a no kill shelter

W T F is wrong with people???? I hope they find it a home or give it to a no-kill shelter! I already have 2 dogs and my house is too small for anymore Good luck!!!

OMG they shouldn't put the dog to sleep bring the dog to North Shore!

omg that's too sad!!!!!!!!!! Please tell them not to put the dog to sleep..he's healthy, friendly and innocent... they can take him to North Shore and I'm sure someone will adopt the dog given that he's already home trained and friendly

thanks for the info everyone!! i'll tell fh's friend to look into north shore animal league and the other no-kill shelters if we can't find anyone that can take him.

Or bideawee is a no kill shelter as well, if I didnt already have 2 dogs that we saved in our one bedroom apartment we would!! Go to a no kill shelter

OMG...plase tell them to go to North Shore animal league or Bidawee.

If I didn't have a yellow lab puppy in our small place already I'd take him.

Please keep us posted on what happens with him.
