Confidence with weight

Re: Confidence with weight

Well on one hand ... I can't relate to this because our bodies are like completely different. I'm bigger and taller than you.

However -- even though I have regained some lbs pack -- I used to be about 40 lbs heavier than I am now.

But I will say that... even when I was at my lowest weight... my body was still not 'shaped' the way I wanted it to be. And most of that is just heriditary. All the women in my family are bigger on bottom smaller on top. I don't have that hour glass figure. I had gotten a nice skinny waist but still had lots of booty and very little boobs.

There's only so much you can do about that.

If you are eating healthy and exercising... all you can do is put yourself together the best you can and dress for your body type.

You aren't your sisters or female family members. Maybe you're a little curvier than they are. For all you know, they might envy your body type.

You have to figure out how to love your body type. And most of us struggle with that on a daily basis I think. But it is what it is. It's your body... your only given one. Try to love it.

Yea I think that is what is is. It's like even though I wear a size 2 I still feel 'curvier' than others wearing the same size, etc. I feel like I have bigger hips and waist then them...like my sister and I have similar taste and will wear almost the same size clothes but everyone just looks so different on her. Everyone is always saying she is so thin- and I'm just like thinking to myself...I'm wearing the exact same size! But we just wear it so differently.

It's frustrating but you're right - there is almost so much I can do- I work out at least 5 times a week- cardio, yoga, weights and eat really heatlhy for the most part. I guess I just need to learn to love my body- I am sick of asking DH if I'm fat and I know hes sick of hearing it!!

Re: Confidence with weight

I seriously could have written that post myself. I understand completely where you are coming from. I'm about the same size as you.

I used to be 180lbs, size 16. Through WW I lost over 60lbs. I just bought a pair of pants yesterday that were a size 0.

It's hard because I still sometimes see that old fat me in the mirror. Now instead of people making comments about me being too fat, its that I'm too skinny. Either way, people will say things- its just a matter of YOU being happy.

It's hard though and I can relate. I'm always comparing myself to my cousins or other people. I can't help it!!! I guess when I was bigger it was always my goal to have bodies like they do. But the truth it, everyones body is different! Although I'm skinny I have a medium frame. I will never have a small frame- there's nothing I can do about that. I can't change my bone structure.

There's not really anything you can do about the whole comparing yourself to others or gaining self- confidence about your weight. It just has to happen. I'm working on it- but I'm still not 100% there. I used to say all the time 'I'm so fat' and 'I hate my body' but I don't do that anymore. It can also be hard if you vent to people who don't understand...when you're a size 2 and venting about being fat people take it the wrong way. I have finally come to terms that I'm by far NOT fat, but my self-confidence is completely there. I vented alot to DH because he was very supportive (and still is) and would listen to my rants.

One thing that really helped me is running- it keeps me in shape and helps me feel good abou myself. I can focus on other accomplishments- like running more mileage or getting faster.

If you ever need to talk or vent please FM me.

Thanks for posting. Yea I feel the same way as you. I find that I'm always comparing myself to others especially people in my family (and when my sister is smaller than me its hard). I'm sick of not feeling good about myself though. And I know DH is really sick of hearing it esp when he knows I'm already thiin. I'm ready to just be happy and not stress over my body when I know I work out all the time and eat pretty well. I do spin classes like 4-5 times a week which I love as well as yoga so I really feel good about that and feel like I cant really work out much more. I feel like my body is at its 'happy weight' because I can eat healthy and exercise like crazy and I'm still always the same.

So I think you are right and I just have to love my body the way it is and be happy. I also am thin but dont have a tiny frame like you so I guess thats where a lot of the insecurities come from. Like I feel like I hold a lot of weight in my waist/hips area which makes me look a lot bigger than I am. I find if I wear a longer shirt that comes to my hips it makes me look (feel) better about myself and I always wear heels when I go out to look leaner. Anyway- I definitely need to 'get over it' lol which is a lot easier said than done but life is too short to worry about things like this...just happy that I know I'm not the only out with this insecurity!
