does anyone get shellac manicures?

PRO: it is AWESOME!!! lasts 2-3 weeks. no chipping. always shiney. LOVE


CON: it damages your nail. even though they say it doesnt.


if you do it once or twice in a row, then take a break for a month or so, you should be fine

when i did it like 4times in a row my nails FELT worse....then when i decided not to do it anymore, my nails were soooo weak and damaged (same as if taking off a pair of tips)

would i do it again? for a long vacation, i would consider it....but i would make sure to give my nails a long break between

This is an awesome summary and I agree with everything!

Is this the same as OPI Gel manicure? Because I've been getting this for about 3 months now.. and even though I love that it stays on longer.. I hateeeeeeee soaking my nails every time!!!

i did the gel and i dont like that you cant take it off on yuor own. i just peeled half of them off my nails and it kind of scratched my nails

can you take the shellac off with regular nail polish remover or do they have to do it in the salon?

i did opi gel and it def damaged my nails

ugh i hate getting a mani and it being destroyed two days later waaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I got one for the wedding/honeymoon. My nails felt strong, but when I eventually chipped off the polish my nails looked like I had had tips on.

gel and shellac are different

gel is stronger, supposed to last longer (?) and can harm your nails more. There's more steps in the gel manicure and it involves UV light.
