how do u pay for vacations?

dh and i split the bills this way:

dh
car
car insurance

me
electric
cable/phone/internet
homeowners ins

mortgage - split in 1/2

- groceries or things for our home, we dont split, whoever is otu buying that day just pays

we also contribute to a savings acct & checking acct (checking acct is used to pay mortgage)

well we are now planning a vacation to greece
so how do we pay for that? silly question.. but i'm just wondering how other couples work that out?

we pay from wherever the money is when a bill is due. DH gets paid every 2 weeks, so it's never the same month to month. it's actually really annoying because bills are always due on the same day.

we make it work.

same with vacation. it gets paid for from wherever the money is.

We both transfered our paychecks into 1 account.
I'm in charge of all the bills and putting $ into savings.

I enjoy it actually lol. Keeps me nice and organized since I'm a control freak about $.

We combined accounts a few months before we got married. Basically 'whats mine is your's and whats your's is mine'. DH's paycheck covers bills, living expenses, etc. I pay my student loans then put my entire paycheck into savings.
