Looooving it! It makes me feel like I actually know what I'm doing, even though I don't. I'm actually starting classes for it this weekend with my SIL!

Absolutely! They have a photoshop class there, too, that I'm thinking about taking if I like this one.

I've got Rebel, too! I've only ever used it on the automatic settings which is all fine and well, but I want to learn to use it properly. So I'm taking classes at PhotoManhattan. It's $329 for a 9 week course. Each class is 2 hours and they have all different dates and times to go. I haven't heard anything about it- good or bad- so I'm basically going in there blind. But I figure the price isn't so bad and if I learn one good thing then it was worth it to me.

ETA: I know it's all last minute but there's a session starting this weekend if you'd like to join with me!

I am going to look into this! I have no idea how to use my camera, i take photos in automatic also, but i tried reading the manual and learned how to take b&w photos. i hate giving up my weekends, but the weekday post-work would be great. Can you please let me know how it is?!!!

Will do!!! I know, I was thinking about taking them after work one night but my SIL always has to work overtime and she really wants to do them, too.

ETA: Yeah, I've been reading the manual, too, but that thing is like a little brick. lol! And full of words that fly right over my little head!

Re: Jill

DH threw out the english manual accidentally, but kept the spanish one (neither of us are spanish nor speak it). So i forced him to DL it for me.

What is worse than flipping through a manual -- reading it on the computer... horrible...

I wish I had someone to take the class with me though...

.

you're not missnig anything ... that thing is pretty useless for newbies

i'd love to take a photography class ... i have a cannon rebel t1i and 99% use auto settings too ... and the 1% of the time that i use a 'fancy' setting, the photo comes out blurry or dark

my bday's coming up in may so i may ask for classes as my gift
