This am going from train to train I turned my Kindle to sleep mode then went to turn it back on to read and now the screen is all funky!!!! There's lines and the picture that was on during sleep mode is slightly faded and never really disapeared when I tried to wake it up. It looks sort of like an etch a sketch right now.
Has this ever happened to anyone else??? What do I dooooo??? I'm so sad! DH got it for me for Valentine's day. It's nearly 2 months old and hasn't gotten wet or dropped. I don't know what happened!!

Call Amazon helpline!
The customer service is amazing. Mine just wouldn't turn on one day and they sat and guided me through it. They said that if we couldn't fix it on the phone, they'd send me a new one asap. Trust me, even if its really broken and they can't fix it, you will just get a new one. Customer service is really great!

when DH's kindle broke they sent him a new one so defintely contact amazon!

this EXACT thing happened on my honeymoon, where the page wouldn't change fully etc. DH looked at it and after trying a couple things just called amazon and we got a new one. He looked online and apparently this is a fairly common glitch!
ETA: I was calling it etch a sketch too!! That's exactly what it was like!!!! did it get wet at all? even a drop? cuz mine started after it got hit by a couple raindrops!

It's gotten hit by a few rain drops, but that was like a week ago. And this just happened this AM. Soooo sad! I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one and that Amazon will likely fix the problem or I'll get a new one.
Did you girls get the books that you had on the broken Kindle transferred to the new Kindle??

yup they transferred. i don't totally understand but its something like, your kindle is registered so you just register the new one under the same account and it should be good to go.

that happens to me all the time! i just restart it and it usually goes back to normal. Slide the switch and hold it for a while and it will restart
