What is the funniest/craziest/most annoying thing an in-law has ever done to you?

I was talking to my eyebrow/facial girl and she was talking about my MIL and told me how I married into such a nice family. Which got me thinking, SHE MUST NOT KNOW THE REALLY GOOD STORIES! Don't get me wrong, my MIL is a sweetheart but sometimes she is too 'my son, my son' that I want to punch her and tell her 'let it go, he's got me now...I promise I feed him'.

We call her Marie Barron!

i got cornered and lectured on how i promised sil a gift at MY BRIDAL shower which was the reason why she didnt speak to me for months.


also threats if i invite certain members of THEIR family , mil will spit in their face at the church and leave.

SIL cursed DH and I out at the train station because she fell asleep on the train and we didn't wake her up for her stop. She was drunk, so we had planned to just let her come back to our place and crash there and we'd drive her home in the morning. She was not having it, lol. We got into an all-out b!tch-fest in front of the Rockville Centre train station. I actually love SIL, and we get along great, but that day was just incredible.

As much as I loved my MIL the last 1/2 year was crazy.

There was one time I was in the bathroom with her (I needed to be in there so she wouldnt fall) As she sat down on the toilet she asked me to rub her head. I asked her worried 'whats wrong- does your head hurt' She tells me 'no- I just like the way it feels' Me: I am not rubbing your head when you are sitting on the toilet- thats just not right - call me when you are finished I will come back in for you'
She didnt talk to me for hours after that!

SIL unfriended me on FB because her son wasn't the ring-bearer

on DH's family cruise, we all had dinner together every night (13 of us) ... one day everyone started going around the table showing their muscles ... then DH and I decided it was time to leave so we got up ... DH's grandmother asked 'oh Craig - you're showing us THAT muscle now?!' (yeah, she was talking bout his you-know-what!!!!)

I realized I didn't put anything...

We got engaged 5 months before SIL's wedding she told me not to plan a single thing until after her wedding and when I didn't listen to her fully (I booked the hall and found my dress on accident) she didn't speak to me for 3 months!

When Franky took his A-Test (I think I told this story) I wasn't nervous AT ALL until his mom would call me 3 times a day asking how 'her son' was. Finally the day of the test I went to breakfast with SIL and BIL. SIL invited MIL to join and I told them to just stay away from the test. As soon as she sits down this is the convo:

MIL: Anyone hear from Franky yet?
SIL and BIL start laughing
BIL: 'OH G-D'
SIL: Mom stop!
MIL: What? I'm concerned about my son.
Me: I'm not nervous at all about this test and I know he'll do great but you're stressing me out about it now.
MIL: Well I care about him
Me: I can about him too
MIL: Well he's MY son!
Me: OK, he's my husband.
MIL: He's been my son longer so I care more.

BIL kicked me, SIL changed the subject, and I just looked out the window holding back tears...

There are so many more like when she called me after Franky and I had a fight to clarify HIS side of the argument but that has to take the cake for me.

MIL paid for half of SIL's shower, contributed nada to mine.

I think the topper was that after our ceremony MIL went back home to get her camera. (very short window between church and reception) because everybody knows that the mother of the groom takes pictures all night. Then she got to the hall and never came to find us for pictures. She just went to cocktail hour. We have exactly 3 shots with his parents, and they are terrible because they were rushed. We took them before walking into the reception. OBVIOUSLY I'm still a little bitter.

OMG! We have the same MIL!!!! My MIL couldn't focus anything on our wedding until after SIL's. It wasn't 3 months but it was VERY annoying and then wanted to know EVERY SINGLE thing about out wedding.

She also didn't contribute to my shower but said she was going to and paid for more then half for SIL.

AND the kicker of the wedding things was that she wouldn't show me her dress I told her no navy, black, or dark brown since my girls were wearing black and I didn't want the mom's to match. I even showed her a picture of my mom's dress. She showed up to our wedding and I thought I was going to throw up...in the shade it looked navy but when you put it next to my mom's dress and in the light (and inside) it was the SAME EXACT color!!!!!



BTW - I posted the stories of my MIL and she called 2 minutes later...I thought she read it! Even though she's not allowed to call me at work, she texts me now instead telling me to call her, she called me!

ok I totally looove and heart my dh's grandad. he is the cutest old man ever!!!!! but on xmasI was in such a upsetting mood cause dad was in the hospital and we planned a nice brunch at our apartment for my parents and dh's parents and grandad who lives in florida but was in town cause of the holidays. Well I wasnt really eating much and was really upset so I had a donut and he looked at me and said

Him - ' did you just eat a donut'
Me - 'yah'
Him - 'you better watch out you dont want to keep packing on the pounds, watch thos hips'
Me - 'umm , ok

Yea. I was speechless, but DH and I were the only ones who caught it and we laughed about it but I was just so suprised although he said something to Dh one time very similar so then didnt feel so bad!! lol

On xmas eve, DH's aunt was talking to me about having kids. She decided to tell me about her cousin who couldn't have kids. She told me that the woman took her husband's sperm...but it in a turkey baster and shot it up her vag...and got pregnant that way. Ummmmm....awkward.

my lesbian sister in law has a scrapbook of me.

pictures of me and e-mails i've sent her and postcards i sent to her and DH when they used to live together.

i'm convinced she stole my favorite sweatshirt. seriously we looked everywhere for it and it just VANISHED.

i'm pretty sure she keeps it under her bed and like smells it or does freakshow voodoo with it.

she's PSYCHO.

SIL and her DH had been talking about getting engaged for awhile. Time kept passing and it never happened. I guess my DH got tired of waiting and decided to propose to me.

So we're engaged, and planning - we pick the date, the RH, the church, the dress, i asked both of DH's sisters to be BM's, the whole nine... and then she gets engaged about 3 months after we did. Ok cool, everyone's happy.

Two months after that DH and I find on Facebook that she booked her wedding 6 WEEKS before ours. We were shocked and reacted accordinly. It wasn't that she was getting married before us - I really could care less about that. It was that she did it SO close to ours, without even giving us a heads up or anything. Nope, only found out after seeing her status.

She then proceeded to start the biggest battle ever about how selfish we are and carrying on endlessly (she has RAGING middle child syndrome). The entire wedding planning process was truly painful for me because of her. If I could have a dollar for every time she said (or i heard her say 'it's not a competition'), I could be a SAH wife! She claims she wouldn't have been upset if we had done what they did, but something tells me DH and I would've called off the wedding if it was the other way around. SH*T would've hit the fan bigtime, when it comes to her.

Her main reason for choosing her wedding date - couldn't have it earlier cause it's too close to her boob job, couldn't have it after cause it's hunting season and her DH REFUSED to get married anytime between October and December.


This was the craziest in law experience I've ever dealt with but DH tells me to hang on for dear life - she's going to give us one bumpy ride for years to come i just pray she has kids and picks names and has a house and does everything else before us because i can't imagine how she would treat us if god-forbid we experienced any of these things before her. (Pent up frustration much?)

I literally could write a book on my MIL, we all know she is literally crazy.

* The first time I met her she told me she was forced to have DH and wished she had an abortion

* She gave me a toyota hubcap in a trash bag for Xmas one year (i drive a vw)

* She has also given me a box of rubber snakes, her used clothes (she is a size 14 and i'm a size 6)

* She offered to buy us a house if she could move in with us (i immediately said no thanks)

* And the biggest one of all which I will NEVER get over.....SHE DIDN'T SHOW UP TO OUR OWN WEDDING!!!!!!!!!!!!! because DH was going to dance with his mom and step-mother....crazy lady.
