My Elegant Sunday Late Fall Wedding at Smithtown Landing Country Club on 10/25/09 – Judge Bill Corbett, Thomas Paul, Oksana, Roseanna Amador, Royalty and Rolling Pin AND MORE

First off, I need to thank the world that I found this website. Without it, I wouldn’t be writing such a HAPPY review! I found almost all my vendors on this site and I was thrilled with each one. “No regrets” is a special thing to say about your wedding day and planning experience and I can literally say I have no regrets.

Please note before reading!!!: I am a very enthusiastic person so I will give myself the LIMIT of 5 +’s in my grades. Note that 5 +’s equals like a million to me. :)

The Binder – A+++++
The “Famous” Binder as I like to call it. This thing is so big it needs its own Zip Code. I honestly planned most of the wedding myself, delegating and recruiting people (mainly DH and my parents) as I needed them. I made a “13-month At a Glance” checklist and it really helped my planning experience! Everything from the wedding is in here and this way, on the wedding day I was able to bring it and know all my contracts, receipts, pictures, etc. were handy if there were any questions. (Including back-up ceremony, speeches, vows, and marriage license copy.)

Wedding Day Weather – A+++++
Haha, I used to think it was funny when people “graded” the weather but Mother Nature was VERY kind to me on my wedding day. The day before (Saturday) was windy/rainy/cold and I know that a lot of 10/24 brides could not take pictures outside. Well, our day came rolling around and it was so beautiful that during the outside ceremony, I even felt the sun beating down a bit on my shoulder. Perfection! And even my grandma wasn’t cold – which she always is! We had some nice clouds in the sky – but lots of sun – and the clouds only added some fun design/drama to our pictures! A perfect Fall Day if I ever saw one.

David S. Diamonds – A+++++
Engagement Ring & Weddings Rings. The owner, David So, calls my ring the “Lamborghini” and I love him for that! Haha! David is a Diamond Genius! I worked a lot with his sister Amy, as well. His store is personable – hidden away on 5th Ave in a beautiful office building. He has a Patent Pending for his new Diamond Cutting Technology and my diamond is better than a Tiffany-Grade Diamond (virtually no imperfections.) Best thing – I can go anytime during lunch to get it professionally steam cleaned because my office is close by!

Engagement – No grading necessary – it was perfect!
We met the summer after Freshman year of College and literally met in my parents kitchen in Long Beach. DH was coming to visit my twin sister with his best friend who had just started dating her and didn’t know my sister even had a twin! We thought it was the funniest thing that we met in the kitchen, so this is where he had to propose! After the “YES!” he whisked me away to the 1770 House in the Hamptons where we visited Duck Walk Vineyard and other cute little places in the area.

My Bridal Shower – A+++++
Minnesota’s in Long Beach, Long Island
This made the whole “wedding thing” seem so real! Lots of eyes on me – good practice for the wedding! The food and service were great! My mom’s amazing planning just put the whole thing over the edge! She worked SO hard to make it a beautiful black and lavender themed shower. She had lots of fun games including Bingo during present opening, which makes it fun for the guests! She handmade the invitations, as well as matching napkin rings! (If anyone wants literally handmade invitations for a sister or friends shower- maybe my mom will make them for you for a great price! ?) My Bridesmaid Laurie made the wishing well umbrella and all 8 of my bridesmaids presented me with a decorated wine bottle specified for the “first” of all holidays throughout the year! (ie. First Christmas/Chanukkah as a married couple, first NYE, first Anniversary, first birthdays, First dinner party, etc.) SO much fun to have at our apartment! The Minnesota’s room was beautiful and has lots of natural light – and a place to have a little picture slideshow, which my Bridesmaids also put together.

Bachelorette Party – Wine Tour in LI – A+++++
Long Island Vineyard Tours (LIVineyardTours.com through Metro Limo Group)
I feel so lucky to have these girls as my Bridesmaids. 10 Thank You Notes EACH wouldn’t be enough. They put together such a FULL day of Carly-centered festivities and being a twin, I was definitely not used to this. They even had adorable American Apparel Tank Tops made for us with the same Black and Lavender theme as my shower! We went to 4 different wineries, got to try like 20 wines, danced a bit while listening to a live band, the driver of the limo got us a beautiful picnic spread at the vineyard of our choice and the weather was absolutely perfect. One of my favorite memories with these girls ever!! Not only that – they took me to my fav place for dinner (Fresco Creperie & Café in Long Beach) – and had my mom decorate our table before we got there! And then continued to go out after that! Talk about a full day! It was very ME! A classy Bachelorette Party – no crazy strippers, etc. And this company takes care of everything for you so you can just enjoy the scenery of Long Island’s Wine Country!

**If anyone doesn’t want a crazy drinking-focused bach party, I also recommend Spa Castle for more of a low-key day..**

Day-of Hoodie – Jonathan’s Embroidery in NYC
$15 Hoodie at Old Navy (ordered it online) and went to Jonathan’s Embroidery in NYC to get the writing put on the back. Highly recommend them – great customer service and it came out exactly how I wanted! (Brought a picture and he matched it exactly.) And it’s a funnnn thing to wear on your honeymoon! I got so many compliments on it on the plane rides! (And it’s fun to be like, “oh yeah, no biggy, we’re married. Yep...I’m married to this hotty right here! Haha)

The Bridal Garden – A
The Bridal Garden is an amazing place to get what was a very expensive dress for a lot less. These dresses are usually only used once, or were a store’s sample, and occasionally need some fix-up touches, but all the money for the dress goes to a woman/children’s charity! I feel like ya spend so much on weddings that this was the coolest way to give back a little. Definitely check this out if you’re reading this and haven’t found your dress. I was able to take my gown (by Judd Waddell, who designs the Jim Hjelm Bridesmaids line) and make it a one-of-a-kind gown by changing a bunch of things! I loved my dress and because it was worth a lot more than I paid – I got a gown that photographs beautifully!! Gina, the main lady at the Bridal Garden, had me buy the matching lace on the gown to make me a customized veil (see below regarding lace stores) and poof! My dreams came true! One of a kind gown and veil!

By the way, if you need a seamstress, Julie is their seamstress and she WORKS MIRACLES. She’s a hard worker and somehow (I will never know) fixed a couple holes in the netting of my gown and made it look like new without replacing all the lace! Just had to mention her. FM for info.

1) Lace Star - Didn't get my lace there because they didn't have the right one. But I was hoping to give this place my business. They were very nice here.

2) Sposabella Lace - Had everything I needed, and bought my lace here but the owner is a bit of an a-****, if you catch my drift. So if you're going there, be ready to be annoyed a bit at the know-it-all...

My Day-Of Earrings by Adriana Orsini – Saks 5th Avenue. A+++
I went to Saks to look for some dramatic earrings because my gown had a lot of detail on it and I didn’t want to wear a necklace because it could really take away from the gown. So – I got these and I love them! Photographed so well and I felt beautiful!

Wedding Shoes – DSW.com A+
Only at the reception after a bit of dancing did they start to hurt, and I think that’s pretty good considering the amazing price. I hated all wedding shoes I saw and felt like a lot of other ones at other stores looked like they were from 1992. These are exactly what I wanted – and the bit of bling matched my earrings nicely! DH got his wingtip shoes at Florsheim in NYC.

BM Jewelry – Ann Taylor Loft A+++++
My wedding was October 2009 and I saw these necklaces at ATL in December 2008 and bought them right away! My wedding colors were eggplant (the color of the BM dresses), ivory and gold and the gold leaves holding the pearls together on the necklace was absolutely perfect! They have a good weight to them and will look beautiful even just with a black shirt and jeans now that the wedding is over! (I also got the girls a couple little things and an ivory shall each.)

BM Dresses – Bill Levkoff at RK Bridal – A
Not much to say that isn’t obvious about RK Bridal. Good place to go. No real complaints – huge selection. Recommend all alterations to be done during the week during lunch hours if the bridesmaids work in the city. Loved my Bill Levkoff dresses – the sweetheart shape complimented all my girls – small and larger chested alike! Two tips for when the girls do their first alterations. Take their straps if it’s a strapless dress and you won’t need them because this can act as a color swatch for things like flowers and wedding cake icing colors (or flowers). Secondly, when they do their first alteration, be SURE to tell the seamstress to keep ANY and ALL extra material they cut off the bottom of the dress because this fabric is perfect to use to wrap their bouquet stems in! This way, in the pics, the ribbon matches perfectly to the dress, because it IS the dress!

Groomsmen Gifts/Ties – Macy’s – A++
The guy that helped us with these ties was extremely excited for us and really sweet, which made the process all that much more fun. We got beautiful Donald Trump ties. DH designed his groomsmen look all by himself, hehe, and they looked SO handsome. Black suit. White shirt. Ivory tie. Purple Boutonniere. Handsome-City! Big thanks to The Donald. (And we didn’t realize the extent until we got our proofs back, but DH’s tie photographed so nicely with my dress!)

DH’s Suit – Hoboken’s Italian Men’s Store, Beau Brummel A+++++
This store is awesome. Seriously old-fashion customer service. The rating is for how handsome he looked ;)

MOB Dress – Blanchee Boutique in East Rockaway A+
Just have to say one thing before my mom’s actual review. My mom wore a silk pants suit to my older sister’s wedding 5 years ago because she isn’t comfortable in skirts and dresses. For my wedding, she completely surprised me that her and her dear friend went to this store and tried on dresses. It meant the world to me that she was open-minded and I think she looked absolutely beautiful! And I’m saying this because I think it speaks a lot to this store that she even considered getting a dress in the first place. ?

My mom wanted to write this part: “Small in size but lots and LOTs to look at and try on -- not all tiny so you can see how you will look...any problems were solved with grace and understanding of the 'momentous-ness' of the occasion--especially for the mother of the bride! At my first fitting, the dress came in totally wrong but they sent it back quickly and did the alterations quickly---all this and I foolishly waited till one month or so before to even start the process -- a bad idea but they came to my rescue!

Invitations & DIY
I ordered the Envelopments brand materials from John at Yes I Do! Unique Gifts and Invitations in Hoboken, NJ and then (along with lots of help from DH and my parents) assembled them myself. This was a place where I needed to cut some costs and assembling it myself was a hugeeee way to save. John was a huge help and is incredibly detail oriented. If anyone lives in/near Hoboken – definitely stop by this adorable store. It was definitely one of the hardest things I did, but it was worth it to me to use the money I would have spent elsewhere. My mom came up with the leaves-idea and that’s my favorite part. I knew I always wanted a pocket fold. DH hand-addressed all the invitations with an old-fashioned dip pen, giving himself the nickname “Dip Pen Ben.” I actually did not end up with a real photo of my invitations because I guess some took the top part off the purple envelope and just put this out on display at the entrance to the ceremony… but here is part of it at least.

**I used www.Renaissancewritings.com website for lots of inspiration – check it out!**

Smithtown Landing Country Club: A++++++ (yes, 6 +’s – I broke my rule for them!)
Before I review this – just want to say that when I first booked SLCC there was 1 review for me to look at over and over and I’m SO happy that I am doing a review of this place to show everyone how wonderful it is! I know of 2 other great reviews done this year alone and know they’ll pile up in the coming years/months!

I knew our wedding was going to be on a budget and I was SO nervous about finding A place, much less the RIGHT place that reflected our taste and personality without breaking the bank. And then a girl at work who lives in Kings Park (town next door) recommended I go take a look at SLCC. I was nervous because I didn’t want to fall in love with a place that wouldn’t work out, but I ended up being ½ right – I DID fall in love but it DID work out perfectly. Rich and Donna are 2 of the most thoughtful people I met during my whole wedding planning experience. They worked with me and DH to find the right items for our wedding. We decided to do a Sunday “Twilight” (1-7pm) Wedding and have the ceremony, CH and reception all on the grounds. Not having the Saturday Night wedding saved money and allowed us to expand our guest list. My favorite thing about them that is very note-worthy is that they only do 1 wedding at a time. This way, my husband was able to tell his groomsmen they can have any snacks/drinks they want/need in the Riverview Room while they were getting ready, and I was able to tell my bridesmaids that while we’re using their adorable Bridal Suite to get ready, they will be served a delish Continental Breakfast with fruit, coffee, pastry, etc. They enjoyed it all SO much the morning of the wedding and made it that much more fun to get ready in there. (Btw – I had 10 people all getting ready and the room was perfect for us.)

The grounds: Amazing golf course with trees on a large property – amazing for pictures! The Nissequogue Deck is where we had the ceremony and I’m in love with these pictures – especially in the fall when the leaves were amazing colors. Rich told me he was going to plant some new flowers on the deck and lived up to his promise! It looked so beautiful out there, I didn’t even need to order flowers for the ceremony besides the girls’ bouquets/bouts for groomsmen. They also just installed a beautiful, elegant gazebo in the center of the 3 little houses that make up the country club. So pretty!

The food: They recently got a new chef and I loved all the food I tried there. My parents were so impressed with how generous they are at the tasting – they make you feel so important and we were encouraged to share our ideas! It really got us excited to have all our guests come and eat! The salad tasting was awesome and we decided to take the presentation of the Greek salad (which was in a cucumber wrap) and use it for the Caesar salad. They really allow you to take the reins with these things and it’s very special and rare. I did not have it in my budget for any extra desserts besides the wedding cake, and Rich was kind enough to help me put together an adorable tasting plate. Each guest got a chocolate covered strawberry, a mini fruit tart and a slice of DELISH cake from Rolling Pin Bakery (more on that bakery below.) Everyone LOVED this tasting plate and the pastries were amazing.

The Best Maitre D’ and Bridal Attendant: Joe and Pat! Whoa! Talk about good old-fashioned service. Ben and I were SO impressed with how smoothly these two made our day run. I honestly didn’t know what a Maitre D’ did before wedding planning and I can’t picture not having him there. He was honestly our rock. He took us carefully through the day and often did things that helped us really live in the moment and be stress-free. He helps make sure you eat your dinner and have a moment with your husband. Ben and I got stuck in a conversation with a guest and he was able to pull us away so we can eat our dinner, which I was THRILLED I got to do because he gave us a taste of all 3 dinner entrées and they were just amazing! Pat was SO sweet and very relaxing to have around if you’re a nervous bride. Walking into the reception, my bustle broke because DH stepped on the back of my dress by mistake and she carefully and expertly used a safety pin to pin it back up and it felt more secure than the original bustle was! Also – she’s very quick to keep your train pulled out nicely when you’re taking pictures. She’s there to help you walk and hold your bouquet in shots that don’t require the bouquet. A bunch of my favorite pictures are where my dress is pulled out so nicely – and I remember her saying to wait so she can fix it!

The extras that set Smithtown Landing Country Club apart from the rest: Donna offered to make a whole extra Hot Apple Cider station for me at the Cocktail hour and we got so many compliments on it! And at the final menu meeting, it was so cute – she kept insisting we come up with more fun extras to make our wedding really personal and we ended up doing a fun Cocktail Special that she had a whole sign for! I made up the drink and she printed it up and put it in a frame. They had a nice room to keep all my stuff for the wedding that I dropped off 2 weeks before and took the time to listen to what I brought and how I wanted it set-up. The day of the wedding, everything was exactly as I wanted and I had a BIG list – let me tell you! ? haha.

Feel free to FM me for any other questions about SLCC! I could go on and on about them but I’m nervous how long this review is getting! I want to be sure to fit it all. Haha.

Pictures that really showcase the colors and beauty of the property and Bridal Suite:

Thomas Paul Photography – Engagement Photos at Sunken Meadow A+++++
Wanted to give TP a separate shout-out for the Epics! We loved our engagement pictures and lucked out SO much on the weather that day. We were nervous because we weren’t used to being photographed but Tom makes it very easy and we loved all the poses! He sends you a beautiful teaser album and an even smaller one that’s perfect to keep in your purse – very sweet of them because it’s incorporated in his package, which is another reason we loved TP out of the 3 photographers we seriously looked into using.) Sunken Meadow Beach is a great spot because they have the beach and also a wooden boardwalk. (More about TP below!)

Re: My Elegant Sunday Late Fall Wedding at Smithtown Landing Country Club on 10/25/09 – Judge Bill Corbett, Thomas Paul Photography, Make-Up By Oksana, Roseanna Amador of CosmoNY, Creative Florist, Gu

Rehearsal Dinner – Villa Umberto’s – A+++
We got an amazing deal on a beautiful Saturday Afternoon luncheon. Advice for girls who don’t have big budgets for Rehearsal Dinners – do a luncheon!! This way, especially if the dinner/lunch is the day before the wedding like mine, the guests have the night before the wedding to relax in their hotel rooms and stuff. (And, I, the bride, appreciated the free night, as well.) The food was terrific and having the Puccini Room downstairs gave us the fun of having the whole floor! We used the hallway to take some pictures and the coat check room was all ours. The service is wonderful and we spent a little extra to have the unlimited Wine and Beer for our guests. They set the room up in a giant rectangle so the 35 guests felt intimate and we all got to talk and see each other. Ben’s mom, Kathy, my mother-in-law, did this absolutely incredible game/speech where she wrote and recited a poem (written in alliteration) about everyone at the lunch! It was incredible and so much fun! I got my dress at Bloomingdales and got SO many compliments on it – and actually ended up getting my hair done too!

Judge Bill Corbett – A+++++
Bill Corbett was referred to me by Pastor April and I’m forever grateful to her for this! My husband and I are 2 different religions and at the beginning of the relationship 6 years ago, this caused somewhat of an issue with his mother. Well, because it meant the world to us to keep everyone happy, we decided not to have a Minister or a Rabbi and just have a judge. We couldn’t be happier with the ceremony we had with Judge Corbett. From the moment he met us at the Waldorf Astoria in NYC (where he is a house-officiant), and called his wife of many years, “my bride,” – we knew he would put on a beautiful ceremony. He’s incredibly kind and easy to work with. He sent us a long ceremony filled with every possible component of a wedding ceremony and we edited it to our exact liking and sent it back to him. He also helps you with your Marriage License if you need it. Highly HIGHLY recommend him. He puts on a beautiful ceremony and wears a beautiful robe as well!

Make-Up By Oksana – A+++++
Flawless. Oksana and the make-up, that is! She works very well with Thomas Paul and Roseanna Amador which is an awesome plus that I got all 3 on LIWeddings. (Because then they’re familiar with each other’s work.) Oksana is adorably sweet in person and SO talented and knowledgeable. She keeps up with the best make-up and isn’t loyal to one brand – which is great – because then you get to experience all the top products across many lines of make-up. One of my best friends had a scar on her face from a recent accident and she looked SO beautiful – the make-up made her skin flawless in the pictures and she loved it! Oksana had to drive over an hour to get to SLCC at 7am and she was perfectly on time! She was also really great on email if I ever had a question for her! I wish she was available the day I did my engagement pictures, but she wasn’t – so that make-up was done by someone else. Oksana is also very relaxing to have on a day where everyone’s a little nervous. She is patient doing everyone’s make-up and made each girl feel special, really picking the color schemes carefully based on everyone’s eye color and skin color. I hope and pray all my girlfriends use her for their weddings whenever they get married (I’m the first of all my best friends) because I wouldn’t want anyone else doing my make-up!
Trial:

Day of Wedding (We darkened the eyes a bit and I loved it!): (Oksana did all the BMs and my mom - except the blonde girl with the side pony and Roseanna Amador did everyone’s hair.)

Hair Stylist Roseanna Amador of CosmoNY – A+++++
Roseanna is also so amazing! She has been doing the hairstyles for the cover of Brides Magazine recently and that was really fun to see and get the magazine at my hair trial. I knew I wanted Roseanna way before I even had my trial – and I knew I’d be safe because I’ve seen so many amazing pictures of her work. If I saw a picture of a timeless hairstyle that stuck out to me while looking through the 2008 girls posts, I knew it had to be Roseanna and it always was when I looked it up! She came the day of the wedding with her assistant, Stacy, and the two of them were SO efficient setting all the girls’ hair in curlers. We have the cutest pictures of this! And everyone LOVED their hair styles. Two girls in particular didn’t know what they wanted to do and ended up doing what Roseanna recommended and loved it. I couldn’t get over how fast and perfectly they did 10 hairstyles that morning. One more thing – at your trial with Roseanna she is kind enough to insist you do more than one style just to be extra extra sure it’s what you want, which I thought was really nice of her! She also leaves you with a cute kit of items on your wedding day in case anything happens or you want to touch your hair up with pins/hairspray – my hair didn’t move or fall out the whole wedding, but it’s great items to use now!
Trial:

Day of (All 10 of us. Me. Mom. 8 Bridesmaids.)

Thomas Paul Photography (Tom and Tony) Day-of the Wedding & After getting Proofs A++++++
(Also had to break the rule for TP with the number of +’s! haha)
What to say about Tom that hasn’t already been said 100 times!? Tom and his crew made me and DH feel like we were SO special. Our wedding day was a dream come true and Tom and Tony truly captured this. I got my proofs this past weekend and spent Friday night through Sunday night staring at them with a smile. They are so generous with this beautiful box they give you the proofs in – and the quality of the photos (not surprisingly) is great! (Tom is very serious about each Bride owning their pictures so NONE of them said “PROOF” across the pics.) I was able to make my parents and mother-in-law a beautiful little proof album, along with a larger proof album for me and DH. Every picture of me with a bridesmaid or DH with a groomsmen came out perfectly and we’re going to give each of them the picture in a frame. (Well, at least I am, not sure if DH’s groomsmen want that, hahaha.) I’m so proud to show off my pictures and that’s a great feeling.

A few favorite things we enjoyed about Tom:
-You own your own pictures.
-Engagement shoot included in the package as long as it’s near his office (ie. Sunken meadow park which is beautiful)
-Can hook you up with a great Videography package.
-Amazing customer service. I love how much we spoke over the year we had booked him up until the wedding! I felt like we were old friends by then which made me and DH that much more relaxed while hanging out with them taking pictures!
-Tom and Tony know their stuff. They know just how to get done what they need to get done. Tony is great at getting all the family pictures taken – which is the hardest part of the wedding day. I thank him for that – for being a little more serious to get it all done so that I was able to enjoy my Cocktail Hour!
-Even though it’s kinda annoying, Tony also helped me get a group shot of the whole wedding reception, which I appreciated SO much because I knew my mom really wanted this picture taken.
-You can’t go wrong with Thomas Paul Photography. He will do enough of the traditional shots, but you’re paying him for the fabulous creative/modern shots and beautiful poses!

**All pics taken by him and Tony in this review except things like pics at my apartment/trials/shower/Bach Party, etc..**

Videography by Thomas Paul Photography (John) Day- of Wedding/Video A
He was really nice and seemed to be everywhere he needed to be but I will let you know more when I get the DVD back! Can’t wait!

Classical Guitarist Shan Kenner – A+++
I wish so much that I was able to just sit with DH and enjoy his music peacefully at the cocktail hour, haha. But we were taking pictures for some of it and I missed a little. We heard AMAZING things though about his flamenco/Brazilian style that he did during the cocktail hour and the ceremony was incredible. Guests came up to us all night and said how the Cocktail Hour music really promoted mingling which is literally the phrase I’d say to DH when we were talking about how excited we were to have Shan. Haha! DH plays acoustic guitar and we knew we definitely wanted a guitar player for the live music. Some of DH and my best nights wedding planning were the 2 times we got to visit Shan at his studio in Brooklyn and listen to him play and chat with him. He’s the sweetest guy and a seriously talented musician. I hope to find an excuse soon when I can hire him again! The moment we heard his samples on his website, we were sold. One really generous thing about Shan – One of DH’s groomsmen wrote us a classical guitar song to be played in the middle of the ceremony and Shan helped Michael hook up to Shan’s own amp! It worked perfectly and we were very grateful to him!

DJ Tim Tubridy from “DJ’s at Work” – A+++
Tim has an awesome company! The music was always GREAT and he kept those that wanted to dance on the dance floor happily! I wish I had a few more minutes of dancing but what I did get to do was a blast! All my friends raved about his mixes, etc later on to me and that was great to hear! Highly recommend him. Really classy guy who wanted “each generation dancing to each other’s music.”

Creative Florist – A+++++
Wow. Doris from Creative Florist (the owner) is seriously the most generous person I met during this past 1.5 year process. She was adamant about putting my small flower budget mainly on the bouquets because that is what will be in all the pictures – and boy am I glad she said this! The bouquets were 100x more beautiful than I would have ever imagined. She found such a classy way to do budget centerpieces and they matched my colors perfectly! She was just so caring and talented and I wish I could tell everyone to use her always! Hehe. She is such a passionate, nice lady who helps take your scattered ideas and make your flower-dream come true. Once again – please check her out because she is literally a CREATIVE florist.

**Please scroll all around this review to see the shocking colors of her bouquets. She’s incredible and the nicest lady!**

Rolling Pin Bakery – B
Don’t get me wrong by the grade – we loved all the lead-up work we did with this bakery before the wedding, but my flowers on the cake were supposed to match the color of the BM dresses and they look almost black in the pictures, not sure why... and the
Groom’s Cake, from Rolling Pin Bakery as well, was supposed to be only lavender with white “Jelly Belly” writing, not sure why/how they decided to put the red, black, and yellow all over it. (I know it’s a talented rendering of the JB logo, but I wanted to keep it classy with just purple and white, and they didn’t tell me or ask me about doing this at all.) The cake came with Smithtown Landing Country Club’s package, and I was so grateful for that. The cakes were both SO delicious though and we enjoyed the 2x we met with David very much, and had a blast at the tasting. He seems like a very busy guy who is generous to spend time with you at the meetings. I loved the design of my cake with the 3 dots and I’m glad I picked that!

Royalty Limos – A
On time. Friendly. BEAUTIFUL cars. They gave a little fight when we were discussing price, but on the day of the wedding, they did exactly what I needed them to do, so no complaints. I don’t have any pictures of the cars, though, because it was a pick-up service at 6:00am and a drop off service for all the bridal party late at night to bring us back to the Hotel Allegria in LB for an after-party. We had this beautiful white Cadillac Escalade Limo and everyone had a great time in that ride!!

**I was highly considering Camelot (everyone loves Joe) and Serenity Limos that PandAfish519 recommended to me, but they were much more expensive because they had more of the 3-hour packages that I didn’t need because my ceremony, CH and reception were all at the same place.**

Communication Corner B
For DH's slideshow, we hired this company to play it on a large screen and rent the projector. The issue was that it paused every couple minutes and was sorta annoying, but the whole thing technically played and everyone really enjoyed it.

Jed’s Maple Farm Syrup Favors – A+++++
This was the most fun thing ever to deal with Steve at Jed’s Maple Farm. He was the NICEST guy in the world and he ran a beautiful little Maple farm in Vermont. He even suggested for a smiggen more I get the tops of the bottles dipped in copper wax and I loveeeeed how they came out and never would have thought of this. I was so proud to show them off at the wedding and afterwards, I got emails saying the guest’s breakfast was changed into a “Religious Experience” when they used his syrup. I called him as early as January/February 2009 before the wedding to have him set aside the amount of syrup I needed and he made me feel very taken care of. Highly highly recommend this company for any girls having a Fall Wedding. www.jedsmaple.com

Marriot Islandia – A++
They set-up a room block for us very close to the wedding and were very accommodating. All the guests really enjoyed their stay there. The groomsmen and DH all had the best night before the wedding – running back and forth from the pool to the bar, etc. We also had a ton of family stay here, as well. It was everything we needed and SLCC recommended them – so thank you again for the 100th time Rich and Donna! Hehe!

DIY – Programs, TY signs, Cocktail napkins, Place cards, Bubbles to blow after the ceremony, Birdcage card box with paper birds (as a guestbook) Place card Holders (purchased as a surprise for me by DH)
Just wanted to show off some pics to give you future brides some ideas! The Programs were from Target! Check ‘em out! Super easy to do. And the cocktail napkins are from TheKnot.com, but I loved the website “foryourparty.com” as well.

Honeymoon – Occidental Grand Aruba - A-
The shows were corny (so we didn’t go to them) and the lunches and breakfast food could have been 10 times better, they were a little too strict with dinner reservations in a way that took away a little fun, and I couldn’t get 2 robes delivered to our room for the life of me. These are our ONLY complaints. Definitely go to L’Olio and Zen if you go there. Amazing Hibachi show and food! We had the most wonderful couples massage, went on a 4-hour Snorkel Cruise with Pelican Tours, an ATV Tour all over the island that we booked through Guest Services, went Sailing and DH literally sailed himself and dinners Texas De Brazil, Aqua Grill – both of which are not part of the package and were out of the hotel and absolutely amazing! We had a wonderful time each day at the beautiful beach and pool. So relaxing to be in Aruba because the weather is always perfect and the island is very happy and safe.

Hope you enjoyed!! If I left anything out, don’t hesitate to FM me and I will do my best to answer your questions!

Thank you so much for such a beautiful and careful review.

First of all, you are the cutest thing ever, and you looked just amazing on your wedding day. I'm so glad it was everything you dreamed.

Secondly, the moment I saw your photos, I knew they had to be TP... and I was right!!! The more photos I see, the more I realize that I need to book them, they're exactly what I'm looking for, so thanks for so much detail about them!

Third, your favors were adorable! I love it!

I hope your marriage is as perfect as your wedding, Congratulations!
