i'm married!!! (now with a few teasers)
Hi everyone!!
So I did it-got married after a barely two month engagement-woo hoo!!!
Our wedding was incredible. It was literally everything we hoped for and more.![]()
Just a quick review (i'll do a longer one once i get the pro pics)
Jedediah Hawkins: A+
Their coordinator Liz: B-
Jedediah was amazing. Beyond amazing. The place is gorgeous, and is so beautifully decorated-there's a ton of picture locations, and different areas. Our ceremony took place outside in front of their gazebo, and our reception was a sit down dinner in their Solarium. The chef for their restaurant used to be a chef for the Clintons, and the food was out of this world. Since we had such a small wedding (36 total guests), we decided to have everything family style. Beer and wine was also local to Long Island. It was so lovely looking around throughout the night and seeing our guests laughing and talking and sharing and relaxing-it felt like everyone was at home, which is what we hoped for.
Lovemore Photo: A+
I've used lovemore photo before, and when we got engaged I knew I wanted them to be our photographers. Arek and Ilona are the most incredible photographers ever. Their work is breathtaking, and they work so well together. We've already received 5 teasers, and I know that the rest will be just as amazing-they truly captured the essence of our wedding in pictures that we will cherish forever.
David's Bridal/Men's Warehouse: A
Both my dress and the tuxes were perfect, and fit wonderfully. I only looked at David's for my dress because of our time frame, and it came in with plenty of time to spare.
London Jewelers: A+
I couldn't NOT give London Jewelers an A+. Two years ago my DH and I actually won their very first Race for the Ring, so my beautiful Ritani e-ring has a very, very special story for us. We also got my wedding ring there, and they were wonderful to work with.
Briermere Farms: A
Our favors were from Briermere Farms out east-we did their apple tarts and packaged them in brown craft boxes with disposable wooden spoons. Everyone loved them!
Father Joe: A
Father Joe was funny, and was great to work with. He had people crying and laughing at the same time, and did a wonderful job with our ceremony.
Angela's Hair Design: A+
Angela did myself, my mother, my sister, and my best friend. Everyone's hair looked incredible, and stayed all night (literally 12+ hours for myself and my sister). She is the sweetest woman in the world, and I highly recommend her!
Wonderful Wedding Cakes: A+
When we won the Race for the Ring, we also won a wedding cake, and we used it for our wedding. The baker is in the bottom floor of the Metropolitan, and good lordy was the cake amazing!! We did chocolate with chocolate ganache and raspberry mousse-it was amazing!
Believe Notes: A+
Jackie did our invitations, and she was incredible! They were elegant and simple, which is just what we wanted. Plus, for custom designed invites she managed to complete them from contact to pick up in about 2 weeks, which was unreal. We can't wait to use her again in the future!
Oberle Florist in East Meadow: D
I would give them an F, but they made me a slightly improved second bouquet after I called them up saying how disappointed I was. What I showed them and asked for was NOTHING like what I was given and promised, and my flowers were dead half way through the night. Luckily we only had personals, or I would have been quite embarrassed that my guests would have their work at the tables.
