Sister, Friendship Poems

Do you guys have any poems for sisters or friends? I want to give them a poem when I ask them to be my bridemaids.

My MOH

We’ve been good friends
For so many years
Through the thick and the thin,
The joy and the tears.

When I think back on those days,
Of the fun we had in so many ways
I think of the friend I always knew
Would stand beside me when I said “I do”.

This hanky I’ve chosen
Is especially for you
Along with your flowers
Please carry this too.

A memento it becomes
From my wedding day
That I hope you will cherish
As the years pass away.

After the wedding
when our loved ones are gone,
and the fragrance of flowers
has lingered till dawn

When the last piece of cake
at the table is cut,
when the lights have all dimmed
and the doors have been shut

When everything is quiet
our memories made
and each flower petal
has started to fade….

It’s then in that moment
my thoughts will be free
to think of how special
you’ve made this for me

After the wedding
and all the years through,
I’ll remember the day
you helped my dreams come true

This token of friendship

It’s meant so much to have you near
So many things have changed this year
But the one thing on which
I could always depend,
Was an open ear from you my friend

If there are tears on my wedding day,
This hanky will gently wipe them away.
Thank you for all the support that you lend,
But mostly I thank you for being my friend.

I have a few for family members too, but no sisters-I don't have any

Here's the poem I worked from for my sister's hankie. We shared a room when we were little, so it really had a lot of meaning for us. If you do a google search for wedding hankie poem, you'll find more.

Long ago when we were small
we shared a room just down the hall.

In that room we grew and grew,
in our room with room for two.

Late night talks and thoughts compared,
pillow fights, and dreams were shared.

Sisters yes, but good friends too,
within these years I spent with you.

Soon I'll open my life's doors,
wedding vows and so much more...

But in my life will always be
a special place for you and me.

For though our roommate days are through,
still in my heart there's room for you.
