Re: Tons of free fonts...

I downloaded it but how do I install them into my font folder?

Re: Tons of free fonts...

Which operating system do you have win98/windows xp.

Either way you can go to
Start--> Control Panel --> Fonts

(In windows xp it's under Appearance and Themes in the control panel)

Now keep that fonts window open and open the file you downloaded with winzip.
Drag the font ie. Sloop1.tff
into the Fonts window.
You will see a progress bar showing it install.

Re: Tons of free fonts...

I have Win98

What do I do after I open Fonts from Control panel?
dee6580 Posted:

Re: Tons of free fonts...

Yep there should be an Icon in your control panel that says Fonts.

Just drag and drop the fonts you want installed in the Fonts window.

Re: Tons of free fonts...

If I'm confusing you sorry you can try this method:

1. Click on your Start button and select Settings > Control Panel (or Open My Computer then Control Panel)
2. Open (Doubleclick) the Fonts folder.
3. Select File | Install New Font.
4. Use the Folders: and Drives: windows to move to the folder on your hard drive, a disk, or CD where your new fonts are located.
5. Highlight the font to install from the List of fonts window.
6. Click OK.

TrueType fonts have the extension .TTF and require only this one file for installation and use.

Re: Tons of free fonts...

Hmmmm..... I get as far as step 4 but cant seem to get where the files are. They are still in the zipped file. How do I get them from there?

JodiBabe Posted:

Re: Tons of free fonts...

they don't have ttf extensions

dee6580 Posted:

Re: Tons of free fonts...

Ok..to get them out of the zip file you can right click on the zip file and select extract to folder...

Choose where (the folder) you want them to be extracted to , either my documents the desktop....

Then when you get to step 4 look for that folder and all the font will be in there.

Re: Tons of free fonts...

yes

Re: Tons of free fonts...

When you find your folder w/ the extracted fonts.
It should list all the fonts above the folder selection. You can click 'Select All'
Then click OK.
