Alrighty friends, here is my review for my wedding. I'll follow up with a honeymoon review maybe tomorrow. I'm tired now.
WEATHER: Mother Nature B+
Oh she thought she was funny, making it overcast and misty rainy. But it turned out well and for the hour we were at Gilgo Beach taking pics, it was sunny!!!
HALL: TimberPoint Country Club B-
The evening was a success! People had a great time!!! I had a great time! Our maitre d' (Steve) did a superb job. That is why they got as high as they did.
Here's why they didn't get an A. When I did my menu with them I requested a different maitre d. Not that I had anything against Steve, and he did do a wonderful job, but I was recommended to use their other maitre d. Lenore told me, 'No problem'. So 2 DAYS BEFORE my wedding I went to TPCC to drop off my things and to make final payment, and I find out from Steve that he is my maitre d. I made a stink with Lenore (who promised me in the first place). She said she never told me it was a done deal. I said, 'You said 'no problem' - sounds like a done deal to me.' At any rate, Michael Lessing (owner) was on vacation. Ben said he would see what he could do and would call me on Thursday - the day before my wedding. No phone call on Thursday. When I arrived on Friday, Lenore told me they tried calling me on Thursday. Really, now... how come my caller ID does not show it?
Also, I am vegetarian and one of my BM is vegan. When I sat with Lenore to do my menu, I specifically requested the stuffed mushrooms because she told me they were a vegan treat. I assured my BM it was okay to eat. Well, she asked one of the waitresses about it (good thing) and found out it has sausage in it!!! I was livid at that! Also when I did my menu, I told Lenore I would have the penne alla vodka for my main meal. No problem, she made a note of it and wrote it down in the instructions. I ate lots of the penne at the cocktail hour. When it came time for my meal, the maitre d' Steve came up to me and said, 'It says here you are a vegetarian but you want the penna alla vodka - we put ham in our penne alla vodka.'
WHAT?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?! I ALREADY ATE A LOT OF IT AT THE COCKTAIL HOUR! They will hear from me regarding this.

Of course. Lia and Paula did an excellent job taking pics, as expected. Have no proofs yet, but I don't expect anything less than wonderful. They made us (at least me) feel like a professional model (ha!) and they also seemed like they really knew me. And Nelson with the video, he was a lot of fun. I was a bit concerned bc I never really met him prior, but he did a wonderful job, and is very friendly. And none of the photographers were instrusive in the day at all!
DJ: After Hours Entertainment A
They did a great job. The music was great. People were dancing. We had a ball. They rolled with the punches (and there were a few) and did an excellent job. My only tiny nudge is that they didn't play some of the songs I specifically requested. I wanted the first song after dinner orders taken to my 'You've Got The Best Of My Love' but I never heard it. I think that was it. They did a great job.
FLOWERS: Floral Designs by Diana A+++++
Diana did a wonderful job with the flowers. She captured exactly what I wanted for everything. They looked stunning. Check out some of the pics. And her prices are so superb. What others spend thousands on, I spent a fraction of that. I HIGHLY recommend her. She works out of her home in Deer Park. Pls FM me if you want her number. Here is the best pic I have so far of my bouquet and a BM bouquet:
CAKE: Audrey's Bakery A+++++++
Mmmmmm mmmmm mmmmm. Chocolate cake with mousse and berry filling. Buttercream frosting.
Check out the pics. Wonderful. DH and I had a piece the next day too! I know you are supposed to wait until the 1 year, but we wanted it while it was still fresh. Also, they did our groom's cake, which if you read my post about it, was a VA Tech Hokie. Turned out WONDERFULLY. I will post that pic too. I will use this bakery for every occasion! Their cakes
are delectible!! Here is a good pic of the cake:

HAIR AND MAKEUP: Jennifer, Fairytale Makovers A+++++++++++++++++
What can I say? Jennifer is amazing. Showed up early. Finished early. Did my hair and makeup, my mom's makeup, my sister's makeup. Her assistant did my sister's hair, mother's hair, and my cousin's hair. She is so nice and so easy to work with. I HIGHLY recommend her as well. I don't have great shots of the back of my hair (yet), but here is the side:

BAG PIPER: Kevin Connolly A
He did a wonderful job, playing as I got out of the limo to go into the church, and as we and the guests exited the church. Beautiful music. Great job!
ALTERATIONS: Filomena's Dressmaking D
This is my dressmaker who I have been going to for YEARS. I have trusted her with anything and everything and she has done an excellent job and at reasonable prices. Well, when I brought my dress in, there was a woman working with Filomena who I did not recognize. And Filomena consulted her on everything from price to how to do my hem. And I was not pleased with this woman. To make a long story short, she charged me an insane amount for a hem (that had to be redone twice), buttons down the back (that I provided) and a bustle that Filomena had to redo, and that my mom had to pin a few times as the reception because it kept falling
down (I have a pic of my mom and sister fixing it for the 3rd time). My mom was going to resew the entire thing before the wedding but we ran out of time. Not happy at all. On top of it, I had her hem two pairs of pants that are too short, and she pinched the sides of my bikini bottom, overcharged me, and now the lining is ripped!!! Grrrr....
LIMO: All Star Limo A+
Showed up early, cars were clean, drivers were great. Had to go into overtime bc we took Sunrise Hwy from Lynbrook all the way to the Meadowbrook. Took a long time. At first I was annoyed bc I thought that's why we went into overtime, but then FH pointed out that they took Sunrise bc we heard there was an accident on the Southern State. Whew. So they probably SAVED us some time. So kudos to our drivers who were great. And they took us to the airport when we left for Hawaii, and our driver was early and courteous then as well.
I think that's about it.
