Good/reasonable Photog in Queens/NYC

kinda long - my reception hall is located in oakdale, suffolk cty. the church is in queens, forest hills. i'll be getting ready in nj, bergen county over the gwb. fh will be gettin ready in queens.

so - i was wondering if anyone knows of any good and reasonable photogs that are somewhere in the middle of all this mayhem, ie queens, nyc (though nyc is prob out of the question since they're prob really expensive). some of the photogs are flipping with the whole nj, queens, li thing, others wanna charge me more. i'd like to not have to pay an arm and a leg to get a good photo that won't make a big deal out of the travel, though i know it's a lot, but i'll be doing it too.

reason for nj is b/c that's where i grew up and my mom is freaking b/c i think it's too much to start in nj and then end up in long island. she thinks that it's out of the question for me to get ready anywhere other than their house. so i'm trying to make everyone happy, though it's making me nuts.

We got ready and had the ceremony in Bklyn, and the reception in Long Island.

We used Marianela Vera - and she was PHENOMINAL - www.nellavera.com; her rates as of right now are $1,500

Try Duet - I got ready in Queens, DH got ready in Upper Manhattan, and the ceremony and reception were held in Nassau county. Duet had no issues at all with the travel.

I was going to say Lombardo also...were not using them cause although we live in Queens we are doing everything including getting ready at our RH, but I have heard good things about them.

What church are you getting married in? I grew up in Forest Hills

Maybe could you get one photographer to shoot in NJ and Queens and the other for the reception in Suffolk? Get the first photographer for 3 hrs or so? Make sure they shoot digital and then have your reception photographer make the album?

Many photographers go by the hour.

I am using Lomabardo Studios - they do great work, and are not that expensive!
