Sandcastle Review!
I just want to start off by saying that we had such an awesome time at this wedding and couldn't be happier for our 2 friends who were married!
So now, on to the details. I tried to include pics that I know you girls would like to see (programs, menus, CPs, etc).
Her dress was GORGEOUS! She looked so stunning I just couldn't believe my eyes. I don't know the style number/name but it was a Pronovias. BM dresses were beautiful as well and I loved the color! Grooms tuxes were very nice (from Men’s Warehouse) even though they had some problems with the tuxes fitting correctly – but everything was fixed before the big day.
I thought the Sandcastle was a very beautiful venue. I love that it was 1 wedding at a time. CH room was HUGE and I loved the outside seating area. I never got a chance to go down there, but by the outside CH area it looked like they had a nice area down the steps to take pictures (I know they were taking some down there with the family).
The bridal suite was great! Very spacious, has it's own bathroom, and they keep it locked at all times and give you a code if you want to get in there to get something so your stuff is very safe in there (I left my bag in there all night long).
The main room was massive and gorgeous. Huge dance floor which is a plus in my book! I like that they had the sweetheart table set higher up on like a platform so even if you were not sitting very near the bride and groom you could still see them. Not sure if this is standard there or it came with the DJ, but they had 4 flat screens set up on the walls (2 at each end) and it was either focused on the sweetheart table or on the people dancing.
This venue is great for those of you planning big weddings. I believe that they had invited 420-450 people and around 350-375 showed up. There was so much room there that I honestly didn't feel like there were that many people there at all.
As far as the food, what I was able to eat was delicious. At CH, I believe I had the eggplant rollotini (delish) and calamari. I had some of the passed hors d'oeuvres as well (which I remember eating a mini burrito and a pig in a blanket and chicken satay). For the dinner, they started with a crab cake which was phenomenal, then a pasta and a salad course (which I actually didn't eat) and for the main dish, they offered 6 choices and I choose the Stuffed Chicken Breast filled with ricotta, provolone, and sundried tomatoes and it was sooooooooooo good! It was actually a HUGE portion of chicken and it was served with a side of wrapped steam veggies and rice. Then after you were done, they actually came around again with trays of each entree choice and if you wanted second or to try something else you could which I though was an awesome concept (even though i was way too stuffed to eat more).
The cake was good (red velvet with a cream cheese icing) and it was beautifully decorated. And they also had a Viennese Hour and I ate a yummy Strawberry Crepe and a Waffle (love how I went straight for breakfast LOL).;
Don't know who the DJ was but they were awesome, kept the crowd up and dancing all night long (I was seriously dancing until the end of the wedding and so was FH).
Sandcastle Girls you've got nothing to worry about!!!
I know I am probably leaving some stuff out but oh well.
