Christmastime wedding rave, advice & pics
So last night was my friend's wedding. She & her DH were on a very limited budget but they did SUCH a great job so I am going to pass on some tips and show some pictures.
First of all, The church was already decked out for Christmas so there was no need for ceremony flowers. Perfect.
Next, they rented out a Community Center at the Navy Base in Newport, RI with a great view of the ocean & the bridge. The bride's brother is in the Navy so they were able to use it for next to nothing.
Then, she waited until the day AFTER Christmas & went out & bought 10 Christmas trees, 25 wreaths, tons of lights & garland, and more all at 70-90% off. Then 10 of us spent 2 days decorating. You would not BELIEVE how gorgeous things came out for about $500. Literally, there were trees & wreaths everywhere. We even lined the ceiling beams with lights.
She also bought these little topiary Christmas trees & we used glue guns & glued shells all over them for the centerpieces.
For her placecards, she had them printed and we punched holes in the corners & tied them to one of the trees
The placecards, table numbers, invitations and programs were AWESOME and done by Jen's friend who is starting up her own company. www.passingpatsysnotes.com They were GORGEOUS and Patsy is such a cool girl. I highly recommend. Everything she did was beautiful.
In the end, she had 150 people, open bar, a buffet, a DJ, photographer and a wedding overlooking the ocean for $13,000 on a Saturday night. It can be done.
Ok, so now for the pictures. There are a lot so sorry about that.... I was just so excited. Oh and don't make fun of the girl with the heaving cleavage. That's me
That's what happens after you have a baby.
Enjoy!
