if I am M*I*A for the rest of the day its because my cruise excursions for our European Cruise were just posted!

Which cruise are you taking? We are also plainning on doing a Mediterranean cruise but we didn't book it yet. I keep telling FH we need to book!

Where are you going on your cruise? I might be able to help... I took one in Italy/Croatia and one on the Northern sea (Amsterdam, Berlin, St.Petersburgh, Copenhagen, etc)

That's awesome! FH & I spent 3 weeks in September in Europe 14 nights on a cruise. It was a repositioning cruise, we went from Northern Europe (Baltic) to Venice. If you have any questions about excursions, I'm happy to help.

We saved a ton, since we only did a few of their excursions, it was super easy to do it on our own. When we were in France, we planned to take the EuroRail to Paris, since 1st class on the rail for both of us, was more cost effective as well as time effective compared to the Cruise Line's Paris on your own Bus ride excursion. The day we were in Paris, the rails were not working due to a strike, and we booked an excursion the morning of to Normandy & Mont St. Michel.

Started in Barcelona and spent 4 days there. Then the cruise went to Monte Carlo, Monaco; Florence; Rome; Naples; Malljorca.

i know for sure that while we are in Rome, we want to see the Vatican and do all the other stuff there, as much as we can. we are also staying in Rome for 2 or 3 days after the cruise is over to explore on our own, so if we don't see it all on the cruise excursions, then its ok.

When we go to Livorno, we def want to see the Tower of Pisa, but torn on whether or not to see Florence as well. i would like to, but i don't know if FH wants to.

In Monte Carlo, we def want to see the Riviera but not sure what else there is! any suggestions! FH would love to see the Racetrack, but FH and I don't want to do any excursions not affiliated with our cruise.

In Barcelona - i literally have no idea what to do! any ideas?

In Palma de Mallorca - there are some cool caves to explore and shopping

in Tunis - we are exploring the ancient ruins of Carthage

In Palermo - ther eis nothing to do, lol. plus FH is from there so we will prob meet up with his family and save money and go sightseeing with them

In Naples - i SOOOOO want to see Pompei and Mt. Vesuvius!!!!

In Rome: TBD

Croatia: any suggestions!???

Corfu Greece: ??????????

Olympia, Greece - see the sights and ancient ruins

Santorini - beach day!

Ephesus, Turkey - we want to see the house where the Virgin Mary reportedly lived at the end of her life

Athens - the Acropolis!

Messina: any suggestions??????

Barcelona:
You must see Sagrada Familia, Casa Batllo, Park Guell, Las Ramblas

Monte Carlo, Monaco:
The racetrack is within the city so you'll see it no matter what. You don't need to pay for an excursion here. Just do the hop on, hop off buses. Go to the Palace where Princess Grace lived. You will get a SICK view of Monte Carlo. Go to the church where they were married and buried. Go to Hotel Paris (although they will NOT let you in) and the Grand Casino (you must be dressed nice if you want to go to the tables)

Go to Le Seu cathedral and you must go in. It is stunning! Go to Bellver Castle, the best views ever.

Rome:
Def pay for a tour here. There is a lot to see. Go to the Vatican (Sistine Chapel), St. Peter's Bascillica, Trevi Fountain, Colliseum and the ruins

Definitely do all the Roman sightseeing while you’re there – St. Peter’s Basilica, Sistine Chapel, Spanish Steps, Coliseum, etc.

Just so you know, Civitavecchia is like a 20-30 minute train ride to Rome and then a bit of a walk out of the train tunnel to get up to where it’s all happening

I did an excursion to Cinque Terre when I was there and it was AMAZING. Highly recommended. This was on NCL though.

You have Monaco listed here (not sure how it fits in) – definitely go up to the palace – that’s all I did when I was there. You could go to the Casino too.

We paid for an excursion here. We went down to the Amalfi Coast to Positano. Driving on the cliffs and the view is breathtaking. Then we went shopping and had lunch in Sorrento. Then Pompeii which is a must see. You def need a tour here.

Florence:
Def get a tour here. The ship comes in about 1 1/2 hrs from Florence and you need to first get into the city. You have to do a tour here bc there is so much to see and hear about.

110% doing a tour to Pompeii - it was a dream of mine since I knew what this place was!

Florence:

i hear its not so far and most of our excursions will take us with pick up/drop off service!

CINQUE TERRE

Just an overall romantic spot - they even have a lover's lane where you're supposed to put a lock on one of the doors or something and throw the keys into the ocean. I didn't do it because I was with a friend, and not my FH, but lots of couples did. Definitely look more into that.

The Cinque Terre is a rugged portion of coast on the Italian Riviera. It is in the Liguria region of Italy, to the west of the city of La Spezia. 'The Five Lands' comprises five villages: Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. The coastline, the five villages, and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Cinque Terre is noted for its beauty. Over centuries, people have carefully built terraces on the rugged, steep landscape right up to the cliffs that overlook the sea. Part of its charm is the lack of visible 'modern' development. Paths, trains and boats connect the villages, and cars cannot reach it from the outside. It is a very popular tourist destination.

It's like the 'Fifth Avenue' of Barcelona.
