Went to Fortunoff yesterday in Westbury. They have the big 'Going Out of Business' sign up. Currently, they are mostly offering 10% off items. Some 20% off stuff, and some 30% off in jewelry. But, no great deals yet.

I noticed that too...what the hell. For a store going completely out of business, thats not that much of a discount

My FH made a good point. They will prob. take larger discount after March 8th (the last day for giftcards) because they know you have to use those giftcards so why not get the most out of you. Then on March 9th take a larger reduction.

thats how they start. find out when they are officially closing & then go a few days before they will be offering even greater discounts. the problem then is they don't have much left.
i was at circuit city on saturday (they are closing in 10 days) what ever they had left was 70% off. we purchased a cannon scanner & printer for $60 which used to be $100 & the newer version is $160.

Be careful with that, though. You don't want to wait too long. We tried to do that with Circuit City, and when we went to get a GPS on Monday, they had three tvs and a handful of dvds left. We would have gotten great sales, but they had no inventory!
I agree that the Fortunoff sales aren't so great, but they might not get any better. My aunt got a Kitchenaid standing mixer there on Friday, and she said that the salesgirl told her there were three left in the whole store. If you really want something, I wouldn't wait TOO long. If you're just going to look and hope you can find something, then totally wait, but if you have your heart set on something I wouldn't wait.

I know how it was going around that Fortunoffs will not be accepting any gift cards anymore BUT
the liquidators said that they will honor them for a certain period of time. and this certain period of time is until the 8th! soooo get moving ladies!
