I think it would be a great place for an E-party. What a great lounge atmosphere

Re: Engagement Party at Four??
we were going to have our eparty there but my mom didnt like it. she thought it could have been cleaner. we still go there to eat, but for a party i would say no, unless you were going to be in the summer (or spring) room-that room was not large enough for us.
goodluck!

It all depends on the type of party that you want to have. If you want to have a formal sit down party I would say no. If you are looking for a more relaxed env. for you guests to drink and mingle I would say absolutely! Four has a unique env. that will keep people in the 'mingling' mood.

Yeah it will eliminate some places right away and you wont waste time going there. I also wanted something different such as a lounge, loft or whatever but after a long time researching i ended up just doing a catering hall but it was getting too complicated trying to do what i had in mind. Many restaurants charge you per person for food and then separately charge you for drinks, one place i was going to do it at but then found out AFTER i spoke to the owner that it costs $10 per person per hour for drinks, so with 150 guests the drinks alone would've cost about 7k or more, so we didnt go with that. Then other places i looked into such as lofts and art studios and things like that, you had to do everything from renting the chairs, tables, linens and just about everything so it just became too much work. I am more familiar with queens and the city but not sure where you are located to give you any suggestions. Are you looking just in LI?
some restaurants work with you and give better prices for an open bar

I edited my post above lol with more info hahahah
no i didnt pick island, the shower was a surprise, somebody suggested it to my mom and my mom and moh went to look at it. The funny thing is that on LIW somebody was looking for shower locations in queens and i named a bunch of places and said island and that i love the look of island and its what i would pick and wish my shower would be there, so i had no clue, i thought it was going to be at a Catering hall
For e-party i looked at lofts in the city, and restaurants, even art museums, dance studios and those type of places. I also looked at ammos next door to to central which looks gorgeous inside but they were charging $10 per person per hour JUST for drinks and with 150 guests it was alot lol just for open bar, they also would do just wine and beer which the guy was telling me to do but i didnt want to just serve that to guests bc i know how are guests are, ill be honest and if youre greek i think they'll give you a better price bc i know other greeks who had parties there and i think got better prices, but its a nice space. Also loved the foundry in LIC but they charge alot just for a site fee to use it and again its empty space so you have alot more work to do.

yea-- I know about centeal... but the owner is actually my ex's cousin--lol so I dont (for obvious reasons) want to have it there--- I love the look of island && its greatt that you got exactly what you wanted I will just keep looking and see what Four has to say about their separate room, because I do want itsomewhat formal so we'll see-- but thanks so much for the ideas

Re: Engagement Party at Four??
I've never been there, but when are you planning to have it? Is 'Engaged On: 05/09/09' the date of your e-party? If so, you might be able to lock in a good deal early.
