XPost from BHB, LARKFIELD MANOR UPDATE...I spoke with them...
Hi Girls...I just wanted to let everyone know that I spoke with larkfield this afternoon. I had actually called marianne to speak with her about my menu and stuff on Monday and she hadn't gotten back to me....which I thought was strange because they always get back to me really fast. I called again today after I saw the article and the gentleman told me she would be in touch with me...well lo and behold, Marianne called me a little bit ago. She actually came in on her day off (I know that she normally has off on Mondays and Thursdays) to call brides and other customers who were freaking out about this. They are absolutely AWESOME...AND I'M NOT WORRIED AT ALL!!! She said the health department has been there for 4 days checking everything out. ALL the staff had to be tested...they actually had to all give samples (need i say more), and all the food was tested from Friday night and Saturday night....and they found NOTHING. They also had to call all of their vendors to make sure their food was ok, and once again, NOTHING. Larkfield did say that they had a # from the health department that anyone can call if they want to get clarification....Marianne said they're not hiding anything and they just want everyone to be aware of what is going on.
I feel so bad because this is going to be so damaging to them and there wasn't even anything confirmed!! She said the health department was willing to let Newsday know that they didn't find anything at all...the place is meticulous!! She also said she called the Saturday night wedding people and asked if they had any problems and of course, there wasn't. The grandmother that was being treated (from the article) was actually sick before the party, so I guess it's possible that she brought something into the party...who knows, but I know that I'm not worried...I think they're handling it the best they can!!
So...larkfield girls...if I were you (or me haha)...I wouldn't worry. I'm usually one that freaks out about stuff like this, but I'm really not worried.
