OMG! There's a LIZARD in the apartment..HELP!

ewwwwww...it ran beghind the dresser..I feel so creepy crawlied out..what do i do

I would get a container of some sort, put it over the lizard and scoop him into it. Then I would take him outside and let him go. DO NOT grab him by the tail. If you do it will probably fall off and that's just no good for either of you.

i think theyr'es ue if they're outside..you don't know whata freak I am. I want him to stay away form me, so i keep yelling itnermittently really loudly 'stay away, lizard!' thank god the people upstairs moved out yesterday..othrwise they'd think I'm a freak

Well, I don't know any other way. Unless you can call someone else to handle it. I know you are scared and he is too, but I promise he is harmless. You just need to be calm and take your time so that he does not run away. Trust me he wants out of there as badly as you want him out.

Thats whats called a 'mutual understanding' so you shouldn't have a problem then.

Try to scoop him into some sort of jar.

*shrieks* I am SUCH a baby. I love these guys when they're outside. I'm like 'aww how cute..a lizard' IN the house...ick. I called my mommy to come pick me up...Is there naything I can leave or something in a box and try to trap him in it to get him out?

No,m that's ok, thanks..I just need a voice of reason to not be so freaked out over a little lizard. I'm going home to my mom's house and I'll let Fh try to find the little guy when he gets in from work.

ETA: maybe I'm just not cut out for LI life.

Ok..so either there's another lizard....or the lizard is a lot smaller than he looked before. i tried to cach him and he ran under the baseboard heater thing....*sigh*

i think if i got up the courage to grab a lizard by the tail and it fell off in my hand i would faint on the spot!!!

try a hard boiled egg (in pieces) or lettuce with small bits of carrot.

My mom gets lizards in her home all the time. She was also such a 'city girl' but after living in FL, she got used to it. She scoops them up in tupperware now like it's second-nature to her and it's so funny to watch. Esp bc she was JUST LIKE YOU when she first moved there. But, *** ... I didn't know lizards were ANYWHERE on the island...was it someone's pet?

Was it one of those little Anoles? (the little, skinny, green guys- they turn brownish too) I had one as a pet years ago. It got loose in my bedroom once. I was so young & didn't realize their tails came off when they got scared, so I caught it by it's tail & it fell off!!! It was still squiggling!!!! It was soooo freaky!!! The poor guy had no tail for the longest time, I felt so bad.
