We just met with Video Magic Studios in NJ and they are very good. However, for what we want (which would include interviews with FH & me, parents, and the bridal party), it's $4700. We would've been okay with anything under $4000, preferably something around $3000, but $4700 seems like a ton of money. We'd get 3 fully edited DVDs and 11 hours of coverage. Is this too much? Thanks!

Re: Too much for videography?
Wow, that sounds like A LOT of money just for the video. If your heart is totally set, than you have to see if that will work into your budget. I suggest you keep looking.

Re: Too much for videography?
Is it a production by Steven Speilberg or your wedding video!!??!! That price is way over the top. Call Leli Photography - he's a LIW vendor. I'm sure Gary can match or surpass the quality and at a much more competitive price.

Re: Too much for videography?
I'm sure this is asking a lot, but if any of you are bored, can you check out their website to tell me if it's 'expensive' work or if I could get the same thing from any other place? They're the only videographer we've met in person, so I don't have too much knowledge to work with. Thanks a lot!!!

Re: Too much for videography?
I used LCA Studios and paid $3300. Which included a two camera man coverage, one at the brides home and the other at the grooms home, then both met at the church and recpt for a full two camera man shoot. They covered the cocktail hour and park photography that was done by my photographer. I had no time limit they gave me the whole day starting at noon and finishing at Midnight, which means they caught the end of wedding night which most don't do. I got all my raw footage a total of 4 VHS copies. 3 Fully edited 'Movie Style' DVD's that were chaptered, had begining and ending personalized credits and wedding bloopers. We also opted to have what they call the making of a wedding story, which includes bride and groom separately speaking about how they met. Some family personal interviews because we really didn't want that, and we also got our very own Movie Poster which you can see on their website Titled Lisa and Manny www.lcastudios.com
I would highly recommend speaking with them, my video was amazing and love watching it over and over. Well worth the price I paid.

Re: Too much for videography?
You can get top-notch videographers for half that amount. Are you looking only at folks in NJ? If not, I have seen beautiful stuff by Silver fox $2200 and includes interviews Mittermax$1600-$2200 depending on what you want. This guy is based in Brooklyn. Also if you search Craig's list you may also find some other videographers as well.
Hope this helps!

Definately check out wild rose video. From everything I've heard and seen they do amazing work and would be in your price range. They are a vendor on this site. You can do a search and read a ton of amazing reviews about them.

Re: Too much for videography?
I agree - that seems extremely expensive - seems to me that Wild Rose and Bliss Productions would be worth checking out. We used and loved Wedding-Cinema, but our guy has much more of a documentary style (no interviews, etc), so might not be what you're looking for.

Re: Too much for videography?
I DID meet with Video Magic Studios in New Jersey. While I loved their website, I was not that impressed with their videos that they showed me over the previous quality I had seen. Also, I met with a sales person there never the videographer him/herself. Shop around. You will think Wild Rose's videos for example are better than what I saw in Video Magic. Other video vendors too. I went to 6 videographers before I found Wild Rose.
