I need help.. makeup and hair

sorry for the double post.. I really need help and I am desparate.. THe clock is ticking!!

I wanted to book my normal salon but another bride already booked the whole morning. (That was 'Who does your Hair' in Bellmore) So I booked another salon in my town that did my friends wedding. (Majestic Day Spa in seaford) They all looked great. I thought they were a little pricey but I didn't want to book a place I knew nothing about and I didn't want to go for a trial so far in advance cuz I am growing my hair out (but I knew that salons were booking up)
They were charging
125 for my hair..75$ for makeup
80$ for my Bm's hair.

Well I called today to ask about trials and they said that my hair trial would be 85$ and the makeup would be 50$ I don't think that is fair. She said 'well she will spend 2 hours playing with your hair'. well I don't want her to.. I know what I want.. And it is simple! I am also paying for my sister's hair and makeup. She also suggested waiting until 3 weeks before my wedding to do the trials..Hello.. what If I hate the makeup.. She goes 'you won't.. she's an expert.

So anyway.. I want to cancel with them. I think their attitude sucks and so do thier prices. I would have paid that amount for the day of.. BUT FOR THE TRIALS?? NO WAY!!

I need suggestions for salons in the Massapequa, Seaford, Wantagh, Bellmore Area. I am not into having someone come to my house. I want to get out of the house the day of the wedding and my house is not big enough for all of that. Plus I want several girls working on my whole party at once not just one girl doing everyone. That will take too long. I want us all doing it at the same time. And getting done in a reasonable time. There are 7 people getting thier hair done and 2 getting makeup done.

I am just beginning my search for hair and make up and from what I have seen on here may girls like jacqueline Nicole and Marie Katz. A lot of girls have booked them. I think their trials are about the same. It seems trials are rather pricey, unfortunately.

most hair trials are around $50, for ONE up-do, so the $85 sounds good for 2 hours, I would LOVE seeing all different styles! (I also go to 'Who does your hair', it's the best!, but i'm not getting it done the day-of, b/c they don't travel , and I need someone who comes to me)...
same with makeup, usually $35-$50 depending on the person...

BUT if their attitudes were rude, then I DEFINATELY would look elsewhere.

Have you tried Harvey Allen in Merrick (on Merrick Road?) I get Highlights there sometimes, and they're really friendly, but might be a bit pricy. and I had my makeup done there once and it came out GREAT!

I LOVE 'who does your hair'... Me, my mom, and most of the the bm's go there regularly... BUT when my moh was getting her hair cut..like in late November, someone came in and booked the whole morning for their wedding.

So I need to find a new salon... I just want the girls to pay like 60$ for the updo's..not 80$.. Is that a reasonable request or is 80$ the standard cost? I will check out that salon in Merrick though.. thanks.

I remembered the place in Massapequa and I talked to the owner. It's Teresa's Hair Palace on Broadway. #(516) 797-4715.

I talked to Teresa herself. She said that we all could come in as early as we want (8 am) and she'll move all her regular clients. They don't have their 05 book yet but she doesn't have that date gone.

All trials are $45. They do makeup too but I didn't get the price for a makeup trial or day of appilcation...sorry.

The cost for the BM updo is $65. Bride might be a bit more maybe.

She was so sweet and she felt so bad about our situation. She said she'll wait for your call but wants to help us out. If I think of some more I will post it here for you.

Also, FYI for other brides...she was super accomodating and I think one of our friend's has gone there before.

Updos START at $38. Same price for trial. She said for what you are looking for - a simple bun and tendril stuff, it would most likely be in the $38 range. I asked her about me...same thing.

Darling, love Daisy to death...but she does have a touch of the devil in her. I think she is just like us... cute, but extremely fresh.

I almost DIED when the girl said 38 bucks for the bride - trial and day-of.

But I thik that Nicole used to go to Teresa's...so that's good too.

They were both so nice - they were like...awww that is so horrible of that place to do so much.

But I think you may want to drive past and make sure they are both nice too.

My mom cuts a mean hairdo...maybe she can do it? A big 60's beehive? That's hot.
