A bunch of my college friends are coming to town for the wedding next Thursday. I'm taking them out to dinner at one of my favorite places. None of them are from NYC so I thought it might be cute to take them to Lucky Cheng's.
I've never been there myself so I was wondering what to expect on a Thursday night? Can we go there and just get drinks or do we have to order food (since we'll have just eaten dinner)? Thanks
ETA: Since I have my RD the next day and a hair appt at 10:30 am, I'm not looking for a crazy bachelorette kind of thing, just something fun.

Re: Advice on Lucky Cheng's?
If it's the lucky cheng's that I know than it is in NYC. It is a lot of fun!! But what are you and your friends into?????
If they are not open minded and conservative than, that may not be the place.
But if they are not , than you'll have a plenty of laughs!!!

Re: Advice on Lucky Cheng's?
I think Lucky Chengs only has a bar downstairs and all the action is upstairs. I don't know if it's worth going to if you aren't going to sit and have dinner--but on a Thursday night, maybe they won't care if you sit at a table and just drink. Be careful who you bring here and if your going with guys, they especially might be uncomfortable as the 'ladies' could potentially harass them. For an easy going group, it's a lot of fun. Give them a call to double check the bar thing.

Re: Advice on Lucky Cheng's?
Lucky Chengs is a lot of fun for those who can handle that kind of fun, the food however is not very good so if you are just looking to go fr drinks you should be fine. They have a bar upstairs and downstairs but I think to get a table on the main floor where the action is you have to buy dinner. Check out their website, I think you can email them with any questions you have.

Re: Advice on Lucky Cheng's?
I have never been, but wanted to go for my bachelorette party. I have heard from a few brides and friends that LIPS is actually a lot more fun that Lucky's and the food is better. Look into it...have a drag ol' time!
I've been to Lucky Chengs for a bachelorette party and it was great. The bride got about half of her 'To Do List' t-shirt items done there However, I agree that the food was not great. We sampled some things and had GREAT drinks but then went to eat some place else. We had a lot of drinks at Lucky Chengs so I have no idea where we ended up having a late dinner (on a Friday night).
We were on the main floor with the 'ladies' and there were lot of bachelor & bachelorette parties that night.
For a Thursday night they probably will let you sit in on the show w/o buying dinner if they are slow.
