Before ordering, ask what length the skirt or dress is. I recently found out my BM dresses are made for girls 5'11. My girls range from 5'2 to 5'6. They are swimming in the skirts and they all need major alterations. Their dresses have trains so Im afraid they wont be the same after alterations. I would have picked a different dress had I known before hand.

Re: Tip for girls ordering BM dresses....
I could be wrong about this, but I think that's the standard length they come in.
I remember a while back being in a BP and heard the saleswoman saying to 1 of the tall gals that she will need to pay extra for a longer dress if she's over a certain height.

Re: Tip for girls ordering BM dresses....
Mainly all the dresses are made for 5'11.
All my girls weren't that tall and my dresses had trains too, they came out fine.
Hmmmmm. I was told that anyone 5'8 or taller would need extra length. I ordered my dresses from RK Bridal and they are Impression. They have a train too- now I'm freaking out about the train getting messed up by alterations...

Re: Tip for girls ordering BM dresses....
Thanks for the info, Maid to Order let us know this, and we were ordering Tea-Length dresses....they asked me if anyone in my BP was over 5'9' and suggested her getting a longer skirt, when I refused....sometimes it ruins the dress...but if you go to a good seamstress, wouldn't they adjust the length from the waist, that way not to ruin the train?

I think you're right. The average dress is made for the 5'8' to 5'11' woman.

Don't worry!!!! My girls are both on the 'shorter side' and have the Impressions two piece...the bottom has a train. My cousin does alterations...it's as she says a 'piece of cake'...if she has to take 3 inches off in the front...she'll be taking 3 inches off all the way around. Just make sure you take it to a seemstress who knows what they're doing.
