this is a chat forum, I believe she means a chatroom like for instance Yahoo has where everyone talks at once.. it can get confussing, I don't know if it's such a good idea personally

Personally, I think it would take away greatly from these boards. If everyone was on in a chatroom, there would be so many less posts. Also then they would need a chat moderator/watchdog. I like things as they are personally.

At one point I thought an Instant Message system would be cool

I'm pretty sure there used to be a chat area but nobody ever used it.

I was going to say the same thing. an IM system would be good. BUT, if you find someone that you would like to IM with, you can just exchange AIM or Yahoo names.
