Re: YAY!! We're going to HAWAII!!!

We are doing 4 nights in Oahu and 6 nights in Maui, both at the Hyatt Regency.

We intend to rent a car in Maui so we can do the Road to Hana ourselves and be able to do some more sightseeing. While in Oahu, we also plant to do a day trip to th Big Island to do the Volcano National Park tour.

This website was great for ideas and to check out some activities that are offered for all of the islands: www.hawaiiactivities.com.

Good luck with planning.

We are going to the Big Island, Kauai, and Maui...for four nights each.

Staying at:

Big Island-Hapuna Prince
Maui-Four Seasons
Kauai-Hyatt

As for things to do, my FH is planning our 'activities' now...we definitely want to tour Volcano National Park on the Big Island, ride horses on the beach in Maui, and take a helicopter tour on Kauai...we are going to Oahu for a day to see Pearl harbor our last day there....

Get the book Maui Revealed! It was so worth it! has a lot of great ideas for sightseeing on your own!

These are actually both on Kauai not Maui. Just didn't want anyone to be confused.

And out of the ones you recommended on Maui I would HIGHLY recommend Nick's Fishmarket. The service was and food was unbelievable. If we ever come across service like this place again we'll be lucky.
Mama's Fish house was excellent too, and the location is beautiful-I would make reservations for this place BEFORE you go to Hawaii.
Bada Bing-great for quick cheap (at least by Hawaii Standards) food/pizza if you're staying in Wailea/Kihei, otherwise it's not worth the drive from Lahaina to Kihei just for this place (but make the drive for Nick's b/c that's worth it).

The view from our table at Mama's Fish House

The most amazing dessert in existence from Nick's Fish Market. It was Strawberry Panzinni. They light the strawberry's on fire with alcohol, and after it burns out you dip in in a mixture of cream, chocolate, caramel and brown sugar. YUM.

i'm going to hawaii -- yay for all of us! Maui & Kauai for me -- both at Hyatts.

I heard the Royal Lahina Luau (in Maui, I think) is one of the best. And the Hyatt in Maui does a stargazing rooftop tour that sounds fun.
