WE WON A TRIP TO THE BAHAMAS........OK, NOT REALLY

So a couple of months ago, FH and I go to a showcase at the carlyle. All these vendors are there giving away free stuff, etc. Anyway, this guy just called us from Royal Prestige, telling us that we won an all inclusive trip, etc. All that we have to do is go see their products (I think they sell china). Has anyone else experienced this? Is it legit? Is it a waste of time?TIA

I got a similiar call, but I don't remember entering a contest that they say I did. They wanted my FH and I to attend a cooking demo (I think they sell cookware), we said, no thanks, I felt it was shady..

We won a few of those... We walked away. They all say they're not a scam, but if it's too good to be true...it is.

Hi Date Twin,
I received a phone call awhile back from the same company. It sounded great!
But the more I thought about it, I knew it was a scam. I told them I'd call them back and I never did.
Now, if I won a trip I wouldn't have to see anyone's products and they would of called me back wanting me to claim it.

It is a scam. We won too and had to sit through a lecture to buy cooking stuff. Only if you bought the stuff will the trip me comp'd. The stuff was VERY expensive.

I sat through the demo and did NOT buy anything, and they gave us the voucher...we went to the bahamas and had a blast..all we had to pay for was airfare..the presentation was a blast, i made fun of the guy the entire time a nd really busted his you know whats the whole time, this was before we were even engaged

I also got the call after I went to the Bridal Shows at the Hilton in Melville, but I thought it was a scam, so I didn't go look at the cookware..... but who knows???

I used to work at this place last year for extra money. David's bridal SELLS your name and info to places like these and other bridal shows. They buy your info to call you.
The trip is real, it is not free, you have restrictions when you can and can't go. seven days before or after a holiday, no weekends. The trip is real and they will pay for you to stay at the hotels. The thing is you will pay some of your money and there are taxes and a booking fee.
I did not go cause it is a pain to set up dates to go. You have to select 3 dates you would want to go away.
Who knows 3 dates, Fh and I can't even pick a day to go to the movies.
While the trip is real I would read the fine print.
The people who sell the cookware are totally business people out to get your money....BEWARE!

Thanks guys. I figured it was similar to one of those 'free' vacations that timeshares offer. You just have to look at whatever it is they are selling. FH was like 'yeah, we will have to pay $1,000 to fly somewhere that we will only stay at for 2 nights...' . I think I need a real a vacation
