i have been looking and have had no luck! either booked, not what i want, too small, etc.---anyone know a good place for a little 100-130 people? not too crazy expensive......help--i am running out of time

I don't know where you are but in Port Jefferson they just opened an ice skating rink next to Danfords - the 3rd floor is now a catering room with kitchen facilities and it overlooks the sound, it's really pretty! It's $300 for Port Jeff residents, i don't know what it it for others, but if you're in suffolk it couldn't hurt to check it out - the view is REALLY pretty!! I am going to a work related thing there Wednesday eve I could get you info if you're interested!

i dont know where u are located.....but if you are looking in the queens/ nassau area....theres the whitehouse in whitestone....very nice and prices are right!! verdi's of whitestone.....cafe on the green....bayside.....riccardo's in astoria......douglaston manor...good luck!!

I rented out a bar on a sat afternoon for FH's Surprise 30th. They charged me $20/person all they could drink and let me bring in my own food and decorations. I got the bar from 4pm-9pm and everyone had a fantastic time. You can call around and see if any local bars will let you do that.
Mind you...we and our friends are drinkers and defiantely got our $20/person worth. =)
FH loved it though, cause it was very relaxed and it wasnt some old stuffy party, it reminded him that he was still young and could have fun.

thanks girls---i would like a place in nassau or suffolk......... tracy and brian-what bar did you rent?? i was thinking of doing that too.........
i am at the point where i am going crazy!! i want something nice but of course that equals $$$$!!! i am not sure if i should just rent a hall/bar and bring my own food or go the catering hall route....and i am running out of time! i wish i could find a hall that is reasonable--i am thinking i will be able to get a deal for the non-booked dates??? any more suggestion?????????

i dont know how u feel, but check out the Larkfield Manor, it is located in east northport.... its recently updated, and you might be able to get a good price. checking never hurts

You are planning on throwing a party for 100 people on short notice.... From personal experience its very time consuming to do it all seperately, and some places require seperate insurances for outside food.
I think yout best bet is an unbooked hall, Last year we got a great deal on a fantastic hall for my uncles 50th bday due to a cancellation they had. it worked out very well for us, they took care of everything even the bday cake and chocolate fountain (which was a big hit) and we just enjoyed the party.
This is not your wedding, dont stress to much over a party, especially when you feel as though you are running out of time, book a hall and plan the fun...

yeah -i know its short notice but i only need a hall and dj booked --the rest i will do on my own -invites/favors/etc. the hardest part for me is the location--even if i did it separately(food/hall), i know who i'd use for food/cake.....it's just the location that is driving me crazy!!! i want it to be fun! where was your uncles party? sounds like a great place---chocolate fountain=yummy!!

Simple CP's included (usually bamboo in square vase), will allow you to decorate with balloons streamers etc. Will include cake, different pricing for alcohol (open bar v beer, wine soda v running a tab), and can get you a DJ ( a good one). Unfortunately I can't find the darn phone #, and its something really easy that I should be able to remember, but can't!
