Reccommend your LASIK doctor!

Dr. Marc Werner. I go to their Hauppauge location for follow-ups but the actual surgery was in Garden City. He is awesome!!! It was the best investment I've made so far in my life. I was blind as a bat..lol

Sorry in advance for the long rant...

If you go to that center, I DO NOT recommend Dr. Chang. I had a bad experience with him. First, he insulted me during my exams and during my surgery for my choice (at the time) to become a police officer, that was why I was getting the surgery at that time rather than later. He was just constantly disrespectful and made little dismissive comments about being a cop. He said that my eyes had stopped changing, while Dr. Werner (mentioned in the previous post) in passing mentioned that he thought I was too young, Dr. Chang said he thought it would be fine. During my surgery, when the noise from the laser startled me, Dr. Chang said to me, 'how do you think you're going to be a cop, getting shot at in the streets, if you can't handle this laser,' and later during a post-op exam when I told him I was now pursuing law, made another comment about why I shouldn't have even considered police work. I was REALLY put off by his disrespectful anti-cop attitude, my whole family is cops so I took it personally, and so many of his patients come to correct their vision for the police eye test! It's just rude and arrogant. I felt he was very insensitive during the surgery and THEN to top it all of, I now need glasses and can only wear contacts for a few hours without my eyes drying out. I knew this was a risk, that's not 100% his fault, BUT I knew my vision was worsening within months of the procedure and during all of my 'covered' appointments (including those during which the enhancements would be included) they swore up and down that my vision was exactly the same. Lo and behold, the first visit after the 1 year mark 'suddenly' my vision changed and I would need more surgery, they said, I went back to my old eye doctor and they said that my vision was far worse then the 20/20 I had after the surgery and that it couldn't possibly have been as good as they said it was on my last exam.

Stahl Eye Associates used to be really good, my father had it done years earlier when Dr. Stahl was still there, my mother soon after, when they were still using blades and it was very new, but I think their patient care has decreased as their business side became huge, and I guess if you go there at least go with a different doctor.

I had an opposite experience with Dr. Werner. He was so rude to me, my vision was not fully corrected after lasik w/ him and he only agreed to re-do one of my eyes. 4 years later and my vision is not good, i now need glasses to drive. I called him up recently to see if it was possible to get lasik done again and he was so rude to me on the phone giving me attitude i decided i did not want to go back.

Really??? I was blind to the point that I wouldn't be able to see 5 feet in front me. I don't need glasses now and my recovery time was quick and painless. He's and their staff have always been so nice and courteous to me.

i went to Diamond vision in Garden City they have offices in CT and Manhattan also they are aswome...my MOH, brother and co worker got theirs done there also...

DEFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF go with TLC center right across from the roosevelt field mall.. they are awesomeeeeeeeeee and very well known! i just got it done in august and i love it!

seems like alot of you girls have gone here or know someone who has.... what were the prices like?

ETA: i know the ballpark figure so it wont shock me... lol
