I set Domenique up..I made her think it was a surprise party for my Dad. My family was in on it. I sent out invitations for my dads' fake retirement dinner. I had the party at a local restaurant. We put reitrement balloons and banners. My mom walked in with my dad, and everyone yelled surprise! Halfway through dinner, my sister and brother made a short speech to my dad about his retirement. Then I got up for mine. I said that myself and Domenique would have less time to spend together now that my dad would be home more. Then dad interrupted and said 'well, if you want more time together, marry the girl'. That is when I got down on one knee and proposed to her. She was in shock. Luckily, she said yes....As soon as she did, we changed all the decorations from retirement to engagement. She was in tears and the families were there to enjoy her surprise.
