Long Island Engagement Announcements

We are happy to announce the engagement of Karen and Vinny and to extend our congratulations to their families: Jeanette and Kenneth Vey; and Madeline & Vincent Abbatiello, Sr. The happy Fort Myers couple, a Customer Service Manager of La-Te-Da Salon & Spa and an Engineer for Sprint-Nextel were engaged on their boat out in the Gulf of Mexico at Sunset. 'We went out to watch the sunset, Vinny had shrimp cocktail, cheese and crackers, salami wrapped around provolone cheese, and a bottle of wine already on the boat when I arrived. We headed out into the Gulf of Mexico to find the perfect spot , and dropped anchor. As we watched the sunset, Vinny put a DVD in the computer, I thought it was pictures of his scuba diving trip, but it was a beautiful montage of pictures of us set to music. The tears, streamed down my face, still having no idea of what was about to happen, I turned at one point and asked Vinny if he was okay, he was looking a little pale....when the dvd was over, he turned to me on one knee, he said 'I love you, will you spend the rest of your life with me, and marry me?' I cried even harder and said yes immediately!!! We watched the sun go down, headed back to the marina, called our family and friends, and looked forward to our life together!' They look forward to a September 28, 2008 celebration at The Royalton at The Roslyn Country Club. We wish them much continued love and happiness.
