Long Island Engagement Announcements

Wishing all the best to Kerry Ann Gary and Angelo Lauria as they celebrate their engagement and join our family. Congratultions also to their families: Ed and Marianne Garry; and Joe and Betty Lauria. The happy couple, a Marketing Professional and a Consultant, both from Lake Grove were engaged at home on August 24, 2007. 'Angelo arrived home from work at 8PM. I was reading the newspaper on the couch, in a lot of discomfort because I had a headache from neck pain , I was hungry and annoyed that he didn't call me to let me know he was runing late. After being a bit cranky toward him, I apologized and said I wasn't cranky because of him. He said 'Are you sure?', I said 'yes' and he went upstairs. When he came back down, he said he had a headache too, took some Advil, came into the den and kneeled on the floor front of me. He said 'Frances, (his nickname for me) do you love me?' I said 'Yes, I do Melvin' (my nickname for him). He then asked if loved him enough to marry him--I again said yes. As he looked into my eyes, smiling, he said 'WILL you marry me?' I was in total shock! My mouth dropped open, and he asked again, 'Will you marry me?'. I finally was able to say YES! He told me to close my eyes, he took the ring of my dreams out of his pocket, told me to open my eyes and slipped the most breathtaking ring on my finger. We hugged and all I could say was 'Oh my God, I can't believe it' over and over again. He totally shocked and surprised me! After a few minutes had passed, Angelo wanted to go right over to my parents house to show them--my parents love him! I called my Dad and told him we were engaged, to tell Mom and we were on our way! ' They look forward to a May 2008 celebration. We wish them all the best.
