We are happy to welcome to our online family Laurie Ludemann and Thomas Kuerlemann and to extend our congratulations to their respective families: Mr. & Mrs. Robert Ludemann; and Mr. & Mrs. Herbert Kuerlemann.
The happy couple: A Special Education Teacher and a NY State Troope, was engaged on December 25, 2008 at the Bride's Parents' house.
'Thomas 'tricked' Laurie by wrapping a bunch of presents and bringing them to her parents house. He kept her waiting until 8 p.m. Christmas Day night to let her open her presents. When she got to open her 1st present - there was a DVD inside - Thomas took it out and put it into their laptop computer and played it for Laurie - on the DVD was a powerpoint of all different pictures of them throughout their 5 year relationship. In the powerpoint was a song by the country singer John Berry - 'Will You Marry Me?' - and the lyrics to the song were incorporated into the slides of the powerpoint as well. Thomas stood behind Laurie as she watched and listened in disbelief. When it was over, he spun her around, got down on one knee, took out the ring and asked her to to marry him, asked her to be his wife. Laurie was shaking and crying as he put the ring on her finger. Of course she said 'YES!' Laurie asked Thomas if anyone else knew & hew told her that only her dad & his parents knew. She was so touched that he had asked for her dad's hand before asking for hers. Laurie asked him if they could go downstairs and tell everyone (for most of her family was still there) and Thomas said 'of course.' Laurie went dowstairs & her brother Andrew saw her 1st - and saw the tears on her face & asked if everything was ok - when she showed him her hand - his eyes got as big as teacups & he bearhugged her off the floor. Then we went into the dining room/family room and told everyone - 'We need your attention - we have an announcement to make - WE'RE ENGAGED!' and everyone jumped up out of their seats and was clapping and cheering & crying & hugging & kissing & cameras were going off like it was the Oscars. It was truly the best night of our lives!
They recently celebrated an August 8, 2009 beach-themed wedding
We would like to welcome them aboard and wish them all the very best.
