It started with Mike telling me that we are going to Little Italy to celebrate his brother Nick's friends birthday. We get to the restaurant and his brother keeps calling (they were faking it) to say that he was on his way, but they are in traffic, so just eat without them and they will meet us after. So we eat and it was a delicious traditional italian meal, which is what we both LOVE! We finish eating and his brother keeps calling saying he'll be here shortly, blah blah blah (once again faking it) we were waiting outside the restaurant for atleast an hour, and it was early May, so I was freezing! I kept asking him for his jacket and usually he would give it to me, but he refused. Not even realizing it, he removed the ring from his jacket pocket and slid it into his pants, and gave me his jacket. So, all of a sudden a limo pulls up around the corner from where we were standing and Mike goes to talk to the guy, and I am thinking why is he bothering these poor people we are waiting for his brother to come. So, he calls me over to the limo and says get in, its a surprise for your birthday, because we aren't going to be able to go out for it when it comes. (MAY 29) So I am like he is so cute, he didnt have to do this, it was only my 23rd bithday nothing special, but it was a nice thought so I thought nothing of it. He then states that he has two surprises for my birthday. So, we start driving in the limo, and I am already in awe that he got the limo for me, and we are heading towards the water. We are heading towards Chelsea Piers and I am like why are we going there, there isn't anything there. We pull up into this weird parking lot, and we get out and there are HELICOPTER's there, flying around. So we then run into the place, and low and behold we are taking a helicopter ride around the city. I was absolutely floured. So we have to wait and go through the procedure for like and hour, and we then go on the helicopter and it was one of the most exhilarating things I have ever experienced. Of course I was scared, but so was he so I felt better. The sites of NYC was just exhilarating. We land, get off, and then go back into the limo, and then we start driving again. Mike and I started going out at Yankee Stadium, he asked me out at his house, and I said only if Derek Jeter hits a homerun tonight, will I go out with you. We are at the game 1st inning, he rips one over the left field fence and thats how we became a couple. So, long after that, I said I always wanted to be proposed to at a Yankee Game, because I am the biggest Yankee fan in the entire world. So, that night we are driving towards the Bronx and I am thinking, what the hell? We pulled up to Yankee Stadium and it started to rain. He told me that he got me a tour around Yankee Stadium, and of course I believe him because the Yankees were playing away that night. I never thought about how late it was why would they still be offering tours, but whatever. So, we pulled up right in the front of the stadium near the bat, which is near the main gate, and he decided to walk all the way around the stadium (its really raining now), so we are walking/jogging around the stadium, and I am thinking where are we going when are we going into the stadium, so we come up to the gate before the ticket booth, and then he stopped me and got down on one knee in the rain and told me how much he loved me, and wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, and give him the honor of being his wife. I didnt cry because I knew this was what I wanted and I am also not that emotional when I am happy. We started to kiss like Allie and Noah in the Notebook when they are on the boat in the rain, he threw the umbrella and I didnt even look at the ring, I just hugged him. It was a fairytale that came true.
Congratulations and best wishes to Francesca and Michael.
