Welcome and congratulations to Lisa and Devon, and an extended congratulations to their respective families; Kathy and Cary Russo; Bill Piquette; and Maureen and Don Dimone.
Lisa, an admissions counselor at Stony Brook University from Selden, and Devon, a mail room clerk and student in computer science from Centereach, were engaged on October 8, 2011 at Cedar Beach.
'We were celebrating our 5 year anniversary that day and we went to Cedar Beach to watch the sunset and walk around. When the sun went down we were laying down on a blanket looking at the stars. We had a reservation in Port Jeff so when it was time to start walking again I stood up and turned. He was on his knee and simply said 'Will you marry me?' I said 'Seriously!?' and then 'Of course I will'. Best anniversary present ever.'
The happy couple is looking forward to their October 12, 2012 ceremony of love at Sand Castle Caterers.
'Devon was a part of the US Navy for 6 years after High School. We met at Newfield High School, but didn't date until 7 years after he graduated. We've been together for 5 years and are looking forward to our wedding, two days after our 6 year anniversary.'
