Long Island Engagement Announcements

We would like to welcome and congratulate Dana Filipowski and Michael Sweet, and extend our congratulations to their respective families; Deborah and Scott Filipowski; and Dale Ann and Robert Sweet. Dana, of Islip, and Michael, of Amity Harbor, both social services examiners, were engaged on November 3, 2011, at Mike's house. 'It was a regular Thursday afternoon hanging out with my boyfriend- or so I thought! I came home from work and Mike had already gotten home. I did my normal after work routine and since Mike had said he already had dinner, I got into my sweat pants. Mike called me over to the couch. 'Sit down and look at something I made you,' he said. 'It's nothing big, just a little something I made'. It was a storybook of 'The Greatest Love Story Ever: The Story of Mike and Dayna'. The book was a third person narrative of our relationship. There were lots of pictures in chronological order with a story line going with it. I was enjoying reading the book and reminiscing about old times. I finally got to the last page and it said, 'And that's when this boy realized what he knew all along... that she was the Minnie to his Mickey and the love of his life. So the boy got down on one knee and asked his beautiful princess to be his beautiful wife.' And at that point Mike was on his knee with the ring out. It was so amazing! :)' The happy couple is looking forward to their September 14, 2013 celebration of love!
