A warm welcome and congratulations to Diana Flores and Tommy Barbosa, as well as an extended congratulations to their respective families; Dawn and Carl; Maria and Antonio. Diana, a teacher from Elmont, and Tommy, a financial adviser from Mineola, were engaged on June 29, 2012 at Disney World. 'We were in Downtown Disney on the water. Tom had been wearing the ring on his chain for his cross for five days and I had no clue! It was already a long day, and when Tom wanted to go back down by the water (for the second time) I replied with, 'No. I don't want to, you can't make me, I'm tired, my feet hurt, and I'm cranky. No. I want to go back to the buses and go to sleep!' After calling me a pain in the ass, he says, 'you're going to miss something if you don't come...' I looked him up and down, looking for the box the ring should be in. When I couldn't find it, I reluctantly decided to go and before I knew it, he was down on one knee!'
The happy couple are excitedly looking forward to their February 14, 2014 celebration of love at the Thatched Cottage.
