A warm welcome and congratulations to Jesica Tavolacci and Peter Lundberg, and an extended congratulations to their respective families; Vinny Tavolacci; Cathy and Steve Lundberg. Jesica, a school counselor, and Peter, an event planner, were engaged on July 5, 2013 at the beach. 'When you hear stories about a man proposing it usually comes with stories of him acting nervous or strange the day of, but I can tell you that my now fiance was as calm as they come that day. People have asked me if I was surprised and all I can say is looking back on his actions that day I would have never been able to guess what would happen that night. I had known that we were going to dinner at the Beach Hut, the place where we had first met and had our first date. What I did not know is that Peter planned on proposing that night before even getting to dinner. We arrived at the Beach Hut at around 6:00pm and to our surprise the place was packed with people. The beach was packed, the tables were full of families having dinner and there was people hanging out everywhere. Peter suggested we take a walk on the beach because the tables were packed and we would have to wait to get a seat. As we walked on the beach he suggested we look for shells. Not thinking anything of it I started to look down at the sand searching for seashells. As we continued to walk along the water Peter stopped me and told me to 'look over there' at a seashell and I did. By the time I turned back he was on one knee with a much larger seashell in his hand asking me to marry him. Anyone who knows me knows that it is very rare for me to be completely speechless, but this was the one time in my life where I could not come up with words. I was shocked, surprised, nervous, excited and happy all at the same time. I could not speak, but rather just stood there covering my face, not believing what I was seeing or hearing. This is now the part of the story that Peter LOVES to tell people, because it involves him having to prompt me to say something. He claims I left him there for about 10 minutes...I would say about 10 seconds...when he asked me ...'are you going to give me an answer?' Of course I smiled and said YES! He asked if he could get up from being down on one knee and I laughed and said YES again! He handed me the shell and I took it in my hand without ever looking inside. He reminded me that there was a ring inside and that I could have that too! We laughed a little more, I smiled as he slipped it on my finger and we officially became ENGAGED! :) It took a while for everything to sink in, but once it did I began to frantically make phone calls to everyone telling them the great news. We sat at the beach for a bit as we had drinks from our first date. We left the beach and we arrived home to a surprise of balloons and banners put up by Peter's parents and sister. The way Peter choose to propose was absolutely perfect...taking me back to the place where we first met and the place where I knew after just one date that he was something special. July 5th was the day that my dreams came true and the day that would officially begin the most exciting time in our lives together.' The happy couple is excited looking forward to their August 8, 2014 Land's End wedding!
