1st anniversary

I need some opinions-- we are celebrating our first anniversary and back in Sept we decided we would go on a cruise for our anniversary and that would be our present--9 months ago that sounded fine--well the cruise is approaching ( we spent a ton more on the cruise than we would on a normal vacation-so it is more like a 2nd honeymoon-we'll use any excuse) anyway so now I feel like I cant NOT get him anything--although I am pretty sure he is not getting me anything--to top it off I just bought a new digital camera ($1000) so I really dont need/deserve anything--but I also feel sentimental about the fact that this is our 1st--plus we wont be away on the actual day-- so I want that day to be special as well----
Suggestions!!????
I wanted to surpruise him with flowers at work (it is a sunday) just want to do something so that the day stands out---
any ideas would be great--

I definitely understand wanting to make the day special, especially without spending a lot more money! : ) Flowers at work would be nice... maybe you could send them on Friday? Or maybe make him a gift? I am not crafty at all, so I have no ideas as to what. Sorry. : (
Maybe you could adopt a pet, or plant a tree in honor of the occaision?

The first anniversary is Paper so if you're feeling creative you could try one of the following:

Get blank 3 x 5 cards and create several cards to be redeemed for whatever he might like, such as a favorite meal, dessert, swapping chores, a backrub, etc.

List the reasons you married him, either on individual pages of a small book, or make your own booklet on the computer or do a one-page list illustrated with your own drawings or computer clip art. (I did something along these lines when we were dating and he loved it)

Create a photo album / diary of 'your first year' with pictures from the honeymoon, the house hunting, and other memories.

If you're not feeling too creative, maybe a photo album to hold photos from the cruise.

I like the paper ideas-- I am already into scrapbooking so I have a ton of stuff that I can work with--redeemable coupons for the cruise I think would be fun--I think he would def like something like that(what guy wouldn't)
