1st Anniversary is in 1 week.....

1- DH is scheduled to work, but he's going to try and get the night off so we can go to dinner, but no guarantees

2-DH just sold 1 of our 3 vehicles (so save $) and what happens, the truck he was going to be using died--needs a new motor, going to cost $600 just for a used motor, not incl labor. This means no gifts (which is okay, but still--wanted to get DH a new watch)

3-Not sure we'll have someone to watch DS even IF DH gets the night off.


Feeling bummed!

I'm sorry things aren't as planned.
But, why not make it special anyway? I'm sure DH is feeling the pressure of not meeting his new bride's expectations.
So turn it around...use the wedding china, break out the stemware and candles. If you don't want to cook - order chinese, serve it on the china and make it romantic.

What about trying on the wedding dress, video?
Try to relive the day's magic!

Sometimes the most memorable days are born out of the unusual.

Good luck and don't forget to start the wedding cake defrosting project. It took me about 4 days to get it ready.

Awww Jill, I'm so sorry!!!!!!!! Hopefully DH will be able to get the night off, and if not then celebrate your anniversary another night!!

We didn't do lavish gifts for our anniversary, we did as the previous poster suggested. Stayed home and made a nice dinner, played a CD with our wedding music on it, lit candles,and drank wine out of our B&G glasses.

Sorry about the truck, I feel your pain. We just dumped $1K into DH's truck to keep it running, but there are worse things in life. Look at that beautiful little boy and count your blessings!!
