2 Weddings = 1 Day

I am so upset. I just found out last night that there is a 90% possibility that DH & I will have 2 weddings on the same day this year.

A great mutual friend is getting married on June 25th. We have known about this wedding since January. This girl is also one of the people who during our planning constantly offered help & would always text or call me for planning updates.

Last night I found out that there is a 90% chance that my newly engaged cousin is getting married the same day. I am very close with my cousin & she was in my bridal party. She did drive me crazy when it came to picking dresses but she is family and I just dealt with it.

I have no idea what to do if this situation comes to reality. DH & I really want to be at both of these weddings.

I came up with two possibilities:
1) DH goes to our friends wedding & I go to my cousins wedding.
2) We go to my cousins wedding for a few hours then to our friends wedding.
(I should mention that my cousins wedding is in West Islip & our friends wedding is in Florham Park, NJ - 80 miles apart)

This is what I was going to say.

Isn't it amazing how 365 days in a year and things always seem to be on the same day. My parents had 2 different days this happened to them and I had 2 weddings on the same day. I picked 1 bc I was in the bridal party.

Are they both night weddings? If ones a day and ones a night it might work out ok, you'll just be tired!

did your cousin actually book the date yet? You should tell her that you already have a wedding that day and really want to be at both. I know she may not change the date just for you but its worth a shot!

I agree- she might not be 100% on the date yet.

At least mention it... she might get pissy over it but you never know...

this happen to our friends for our wedding.... he was in our bridal party and she was in her friends. It stinks, but obviously she couldn't come to our wedding

It happens. One of my closest friends sister was graduating from college (in Chicago) on my wedding day so he couldn't make it. He felt bad but we understood.

this happened to my friend. they went to one friend's ceremony and beginning of reception and then to the rest of the reception of the other friend

I personally would wait until your cousin picks her date and then if she picks the same date maybe use option 1 (DH goes to the friend's wedding and you go to your cousin's).

I wouldn't give your cousin the heads up about that date b/c I feel like that puts someone in a weird spot.
