Wait, are you taking it from here to NC and leaving it there? If so that is why its costing so much. We rented a truck from SC and it cost about 1100-but we drove it from SC to NY and back

What I don't get is we used the same company and drove it one way to LI from NC in June and it was $600- I can't believe how the prices went up!!

It can change...if they have a truck that is here from NC then its cheap b/c you are saving them the money to get it back to where it originated from. When we moved from LI to SC we had a truck for about 600 also.

It depends, if you are renting a NY truck and taking it there and leaving it it costs more. If you are getting and NC truck to take to NC it will be cheaper b/c now they dont have to get it back to NC. Its weird. I only know this b/c FIL has a friend in SC from the storage place that was telling him about this.

oh and if you wait until the end of May/June you may get it cheaper b/c of the college students moving back home

Its not a guarantee tho

ugh that stinks. I think generally it's cheaper to get trucks going north instead of south b/c of the volume of traffic. So sorry!!!

Yep that what we had to pay but we used the POD and DH wanted to rent the truck it was the same price so we went with the POD and just took our time.

It is really crazy that it costs that much.

Thats a lot Marie!!!! When we moved to GA, we rented a Uhaul and drove it from NY to GA and rented a hitch for our car and it all cost us $1200.

This time we're hiring a moving company cuz I dont feel like doing all the work again.
